2016 CFB Week 5 Open Thread

They were 7-6 last season. Their wins so far are over Rutgers, Idaho, Portland State, and Arizona - the last one in OT. There's nothing impressive on that resume'.

But they just went up 13-0 on the Cardinal so maybe tonight is when they earn some validation for the lofty ranking.

Seeing is believing. College football is too cyclic year to year in conferences like the PAC-12, Big-12 and most of the time, ACC to expect last year to mean as much year to year like it does in the B1G and SECSECSEC.

But if you want to go there, they weren't far away from 9-3 or even 10-2 last year. The only games they lost by more than 6 points were the Stanford and Arizona State games...and that was with a true freshman staring most of their games and young players playing across the board. Petersen is a good coach too.

Stanford looks slow as dirt. Biggest thing that holds them back is their average receivers.

I think they miss Kevin Hogan as well. They're not being very creative offensively either. McCaffrey has been a non factor, as they don't seem able to get him the ball in space.
