2016 CFB Week 1 Open Thread

USC should be flat out embarassed with their performance. I expected Alabama to win but 52-6!!!! Everybody should be fired on the USC staff.
I'm not sure what they still owe, but I think they're still paying Joey Freshwater and Sark After Dark...and they gave Helton a five year guaranteed contract (:slappy:), so unless I'm missing something, or they don't mind paying an obscene amount to change coaches AGAIN, they seem to be stuck with Helton for a little while. They seem to think that they can easily return to their 2002-08 glory. Fact is, Pete Carroll was mostly an anomaly for them. They've had something lf a revolving door of head coaches there, aside from Petey, since John Robinson left in the early 80s...and outside of that run with Petey, they've been mostly a fringe top-20 program over the last 35 years.

Seems like they're in a pretty tough spot. Reading their boards, they appear to hold Pat Hayden in roughly the same regard you guys do Dave Brandon.

I haven't kept up with it so serious question; what has Texas done this off season to give anyone reason to believe that clusterfuck of an offense has improved?

I think it's more along the lines of Texas being an historically prominent team. That eventually they have to take a stand and claim a big victory to turn the corner on their rhetoric the last few seasons.
