2016 CFB Bowl Games Open Thread

I don't mind bowl games if the teams have a 7-5 or 8-4 record. 6-6 and 5-7 is a bit stupid though. Despite complaints in the late 90s about the number of bowls, I seem to remember them being mostly entertaining.

in 1995 there were 18 Bowl Games

in 2000 there were 25 Bowl Games

here in 2016 we have 40.

To compare, only the MAC champion was invited to a bowl game in 1995, who was Toledo (11-0-1)

Miami Ohio at 8-2-1 was not in a bowl game

in 2000, only the MAC champion was invited to a bowl game, who was Marshall (8-4)

Toledo (10-1) and Western Michigan (9-3) were not invited to bowl games

in 2016 Central Michigan and Miami Ohio go 6-6 and make bowl games. This is how bowl season has become super watered down.
