The 6 states that feed college football are Texas, Florida, California, Ohio, Georgia and Louisianna. While 4 out of 6 of those states are southern none of them are Alabama. Nick Saban made Bama a national brand much like Pete Carrol made SC a national brand and that's why they are a dominant program but sucked under previous coaches since Gene Stallings paid his roster.

The assumptions you make are pretty far off base. While I dont deny there are some bandwagon fans, most of our fan base knows our university's history pretty well.
