I totally agree. I am proud of our institution. It's a great school, with great academics and traditions. But we are not quite to OSU's level of academic excellence. But I think we all agree that neither of us are a Harvard or Yale. And those MIT guys blow my mind.

As far as Yeldon or Elliot, I only know that Elliot is much more "safe" when he's running. He doesnt put the ball on the ground. It's also hard to tell just how good Yeldon is at tmes because he has that massive Oline in front of him. He's definitely a very good back. Hard to pick between the two but like someone already mentioned, for OUR offense, I'll take Zeke.

Very light on his feet. If OSU can keep him guessing then he will be prone to make mistakes. It's happened all year. He also stares down receivers.

From what I could remember, I didnt think so either. It's when he breaks out of the pocket on passing plays that I know he can do some serious damage when all other aspects of the defense had done a great job on the play. Same as will Miller and Barrett. I'm hoping Cardale will do the same vs Bama. Just another factor to worry about.

Agreed. However, as a freshman, I thought Yeldon was going to be special.

Actually, Ohio State is one of the so-called "public ivys" recognized for delivering a ivy league quality education. Thought leaders at Harvard's Business School, such as Theodore Leavitt, Bradley Gale, Bob Buzell, and others either held Buckeye doctorates or taught at OSU. In marketing, deans, department heads and leading professors at Northwestern, Harvard, NYU Stern, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Texas and several others come to mind. Similarly in Finance, Psychology, Neurosurgery, etc.

Go to mit.edu and type "PhD Ohio State" in the search box. I think you will be surprised by what you see.

Bingo. He certainly has done well with less blocking up front compared to the road pavers we had a few years back. I think we used up all of the good in Ingram during college. I can't quite figure out Richardson. I thought he would have been the best out of all of them. Lacy played hurt quite a bit and he struggled at times. He looks unstoppable for Green Bay now. You just never know.

Ivy League is a whole different animal, and MIT is a step above being private and specifically focused - but as a land-grant public school Ohio State isn't far off.
A comparison of some of the top engineering schools in the country. Only 5 picked, so it's hardly exhaustive - but you get the idea with the 2 standard bearers Cal Tech & MIT and 2 of the best public options in Purdue and Georgia Tech.

Average GRE (only Quantitative Reasoning portion) is one of the most straightforward comparisons for quality. They all look for scores well into the 160s (out of 170); Ohio State, Purdue, GTech, and MIT average scores 163 to 165; CalTech blows them away with 168.

Was wondering how/what athletes graduation rates had to do w/academic ratings? If you play for Meyer/Saban I assume you're somewhat intelligent, especially quarterback. ok, that was a non-sequitur.
