That's comparing apples to oranges. Alabama travels well and the Sugar Bowl is like a second home to Tide fans. Educated guess 60% Ala 38% tOSU 2% Drunk Cajuns
The oddsmakers might disagree with you....on that.
If by that you mean there is no clear preponderance of statistical superiority on either side, that may well be true, although I'd like to see a DaddyBigBucks-style Differential Statistical Composite analysis first.I think it's pretty evident by now that there's no significant edge on paper in this game by any metric.
I would guess that the common view that Alabama is more likely to win is based as much on recent history as anything else. Recent history including i) the view that the SEC is generally better than the BigTen, and ii) in particular, Alabama's recent track record of winning a lot of championships. The oddsmakers might disagree with you....on that.

Again, distance is irrelevant. Any and all tickets allocated to Ohio State, along with any other available tickets, will be bought and used by Ohio State fans. If the Sugar Bowl were to suddenly ban Alabama fans from attending, the stadium would still be full. Even when we played at California last year, over half the stands were Ohio State fans despite the 2,000+ mile trek. Ohio State has the second-largest alumni base in the country behind Penn State. Alabama will have no where near 60% attendance...That's comparing apples to oranges. Alabama travels well and the Sugar Bowl is like a second home to Tide fans. How many of the more than 600,000 living Buckeye alumni are in the South? 100,000?
I'm still sticking with most likely a 55/45 split. OSU travels well, larger alumni base than Bama, and Bama fans may be saving their money for the NCG. Now I'm sure Bama has a larger alumni base in the southeast than OSU does, but I'm not sure how much larger it is. Hell, I suppose I wouldn't even be shocked by a 55/45 split for OSU. But I'll guess 55/45 for Bama.Again, distance is irrelevant. Any and all tickets allocated to Ohio State, along with any other available tickets, will be bought and used by Ohio State fans. It's pretty hard to find large numbers of Bama fan's outside of Bama. We may be the most hated team/fanbase in the country.I'm still sticking with most likely a 55/45 split. So are you saying that most alumni are also inside Alabama? Or would you expect there to be a large alumni base throughout the southeast? I couldn't tell by your comment if you meant people growing up as fans only originate from Alabama, or also students coming from throughout the southeast to go to school at Bama and then working outside Alabama. It's pretty hard to find large numbers of Bama fan's outside of Bama. Kiper Jr said that Jones has the best arm in college football during an Ask Mel segment. You're saying Bo Wallace has a rocket launcher arm? Well, maybe. Dak Prescott certainly doesn't, nor does Nick Marshall. And what is the Gator QB's name again?
