Game Thread 2015 Sugar Bowl: (1) Alabama vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 1st @ 8:30p ET, ESPN (civilized thread)

Too much positivity and realistic debating in this thread.

I hope we beat you by 232 points and Saban becomes the head coach of Auburn.

But honestly, this is the direction that the main discussion thread should have gone. I'm hoping for a clean game with no injuries for either side.

Word on the street is that a few of our guys have been heavy on the bar scene lately. I'm praying nothing stupid happens and they don't pack the holiday weight on before the game. Need to be lean and mean. I'm glad they're having fun, just hope they play it safe and smart.
Yeah, the break couldn't have come at a better time for us. We were pretty banged up at several positions by the time the SECCG came around.
I know you guys have had your share as well. We lost a huge weapon early in the year to a broken leg. Seems quite a few teams lost players for the year. It's a brutal sport at times.

Our team is built more toward taking care of the big guys. It's the smaller, quicker QB that gives us fits. Mariota (sp?) comes to mind. Saban builds his defense around the LSU's and Georgia's of the world. Not the Oregonians. He seems to be able to scheme enough against the read option just enough to give us a fighting chance.
Closest person you guys played to his size was Dak Prescott. But he's still 3 inches shorter, and 15 pounds lighter. What he averaged in terms of rushing against Alabama would be good enough for any QB in a game. (3.7 YPC)

While I'd hope he could produce more than that, I'd be gappy with averaging 3.7 ypc by Cardale. Anything above the 3 yards and a cloud would be good, would keep your defense on the field, and would keep OSU's defense fresh.

Planned rushes were a staple for MSU's offense. I'm not seeing that with Cardale at QB for OSU...

You are correct or close enough. I read the stats of Dak and their leading rusher averaging 3.5 together. The interesting stat of their rushing game is that Bama only allowed a total of 117 yards rushing between the two as well. Considering their offensive scheme, the pretty good defense.

No doubt Saban will make Cardale beat him. Our OL is playing at a very high level right now and if they can give CJ time he has the ability to have another big game. Am I right in recalling that Bama's D only has 10 sacks on the season? Hard to believe if true. If Bama's DB's man up on the WR's I think our guys make some big plays throughout the game.

I also think Herman and Urb's will have a few wrinkles with Marshall running some read option from the QB position. Marshall, Wilson and Elliott all have speed to get to the edge.

You read the stat wrong. The Bama QB, Sims, has only been sacked 10 times...

What QB have you faced this season with the RPG arm that Cardale possesses? Serious question.
Only watched one game and its the same game everyone else watched. He's no Jemiese Winston and neither is our guy, Sims. Wisky didn't exactly play to a point to where you could tell much about him. Not saying he isn't a great QB but there is quite a bit more to being a great QB other than a strong arm. Rumor has it he struggles with accuracy from time to time.
