Game Thread 2015 Sugar Bowl: (1) Alabama vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 1st @ 8:30p ET, ESPN (civilized thread)

By the same standards people could say the same thing about your schedule. Between the Michigan State game you have Illinois. Penn State hasn't been good in quite some time and were god awful this year as well. In between Michigan State and Michigan you have Minnesota and Indiana. Minnesota had a heart beat for once but Michigan hasn't been that great since 2006 so that makes up for it. Then you have Wisconsin. You shouldn't throw stones from glass houses, nothing is intimidating about that schedule.

Indiana? You mean the SEC North Champion? Minnesota is doing what the Mississippi schools are doing without the player funding and 5* players. Michigan...lololololol FUCK MICHIGAN!! Who is it you think buried that program?
As I said, you guys have won the games that mattered. Don't however start trying to convince me that Bama has the most brutal schedule in the SEC. If you aren't willing to admit that the schedule the SEC hands down benefits your team, then you are delusional. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, in case you missed that part. Hell I'm envious of it. You don't even have a full 2016 schedule yet, We are buried until like 2030 thanks to the BIG offices. The SEC can adjust and put it's teams in good positions to benefit from one another, The BIG is like, Fuck it! Make Ohio State play MSU and scUM in consecutive weeks so none of them that lose have a chance to rebound. Our schedule is what it is because the BIG is fully dysfunctional in scheduling.

If you have to dip into bowl games, you've already admitted defeat. But it is interesting how beating MSU is a great accomplishment when the team beating them is in the SEC... but worthless if that team is in the Big10.
And how many of those places did you travel to?

This is exactly what needs to be addressed. Either the B1G is a crap conference and the same wins that are held up as not that great in conference are also not that great for the SEC and others in bowl games, or the B1G is actually a good conference if beating a B1G team in a bowl game is a good win. Can't have it both ways.

Well Michigan State was co-Big 10 champs that year. We were a 3 loss team. We won the game 49-7. Those are the facts i'll let you guys spin it however you like, lol.

I've witnessed quite a few "big boy football" comments/memes just over the last couple of days. I remember the last time I thought our team was invincible... didn't play out too well. Honestly, we have a third string QB making his second collegiate start in a semifinal playoff game. It would be pretty embarrassing to get ran off the field by him after all the jawing. Might want to save the chest-thumping for after the game. I know I won't be crushed if we fall short, as much as I'd like to see this team win. From where I'm standing, this a damn good test for Cardale. If he passes with flying colors once again, I'll be in awe.

And VT beat the B1G champs. It's safe to say both you guys and Mizzou took a dump on themselves once this season.

To be fair, we can explain our bad loss. Doesn't change the result one bit... but 1 week after Navy with a backup QB who hadn't settled, an OLine with literally no experience, and a new defense (players and coach) that hadn't turned the corner yet. The second Brax went down I was wary of that game.
The difference between us and Missouri is that's where this team honestly started with injuries and personnel turnover -- but it's not the same team anymore. 12 of the 22 starters are Freshmen/Sophomores, with 6 more that contribute while games are still contested.
This was a rebuilding year. What's Missouri's excuse? Maty Mauk didn't bring enough Moxy that day? Virginia Tech has future NFL players in their DLine and Secondary - there's only 1 player I expect to play in the NFL from Indiana.

Oh we respect you. Your conference, not so much.

Most of the visitors here have brought good banter, but I see all the usual nonsense about how we'd be 4th in SEC etc. There's no respect, but I'm fine with that - let everyone hear it all month.
If we lose, congrats you beat our 3rd string QB.
If we win ...lol...
We literally have nothing to lose here, it's house money.

I disagree, to an extent. OSU has a chance to improve the national image and reputation of the B1G. Doing so, you might attract one or two recruits that otherwise land at an SEC school. The same could be true for other members of your conference if they win their bowl games. Over the period of four or five years, having better players could result in the B1G getting the benefit of the doubt among the CFP committee.
