Game Thread 2015 Sugar Bowl: (1) Alabama vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 1st @ 8:30p ET, ESPN (civilized thread)

Bama, Saban, and Kiffen in one game. That has to be pretty satisfying to Urban. It sure was for me. Every time I hear Urban talking about how bright the future is at tOSU I get warm and fuzzy all over.

The last time big game Urb played against Saban, Urb landed in the hospital. Fortunately, this time Urb took it out on the headset.

I don't want to sound cult-ish but the powers that be really wanted Bama in the Championship game. They were getting extremely favorable spots on the ball by refs, totally missed the TO we tried to call, and man look at them hustle when Bama was short on time.
Uh yeah, that sounds cultish. We got at least good one spot where Cardale looked about a foot or so short on a third-down run but the refs gave us the spot. As for the Spencer catch, it did look like the ball did move somewhat as he hit the ground. On the "missed" TO, on the replay it looked as if Fickell was looking towards Meyer to see if he could call it. Overall, I think the refs did a pretty decent job...

They missed a big PI call on Cyrus jones. I thought he got y'all's guy pretty good. It liked like Cyrus was expecting a flag to be thrown on him.

That was the only bad call I saw all game.

Apparently Von Bell called his INT to both Urban and Cooper.

He confirmed reports that he did indeed tell Cooper before the interception that, "a big time player is going to make big time plays in a desperate situation". Thats why he pointed to him afterwards. lol

I love this kid - 2 interceptions in two HUGE games (Wisconsin & Alabama)

For the record, the sun did not come up this morning in Alabama. Now please excuse me while I finish eating breakfast: Cold crow.

About to jump on @SportsCenter to discuss the SEC's fall from grace.

One thought sticks in my mind after last night. How the hell did Ed Warinner turn this o-line into a group that could stand up to Alabama?

This group lost Jack Mewhort, Andrew Norwell, Corey Linsley and Marcus Hall. They moved their RT to LT and started 4 new guys up front.

They started a converted defensive tackle at LG, a converted defensive end at RT, and a kid nobody thought was big enough at center.

Yep. This is why I'm on the "pay Warriner whatever the frick he wants" train and have been for a very long time. The guy is the best in the business by a lot. We have been blessed with an incredible coaching staff. Urb wasn't joking when he got here saying he wanted the best coaching staff in the country.

And it's not just the offense. This defense has made incredible strides. It isn't perfect, but it is night/day from this time last year. And the talent just keeps coming.

That pick against Wisconsin was huge. Our defense seemed to have problems all year when we were up 14-0. I made the comment during that game how huge that was because Wisconsin was starting to drive. I did it under a different name of course, but yeah Vonn has been clutch now in 2 straight games.
