Do you guys agree with this article? A lot of the names seem match who I have been hearing here.
I know this is going to sound like, "OMG YOU HAVE TO WATCH OUT FOR THE ENTIRE TEAM BROTHER!!!", but I feel you have to look at top 5 for both defense and offense:
Defense:
1: The D-line. They mention Bosa, but, there's also Washington, Frazier, and Bennett. If you even thing about focusing on only one of them, the others will eat you alive. Double coverage on one means a lot of sacks for the others (unless Sims does a bunch of short quick passes)
2: Raekwon McMillan - He's a freshman, but a ball hawk with speed,
3: Darron Lee - This guy is the hammer. He will hit hard and fast. He led the team in tackles against Wisconsin.
4: Doran Grant
5: Vonn Bell - The latter two, while I wouldn't put them in the league of shutdown corners, are good. They get interceptions and they mask their coverage well to get them.
Offense:
1: Cardale Jones - Canon for an arm, and if the line does its job, will beat you with the deep ball, or he will convert to truck mode and run it.
2: Tight Ends - I only say the position, because if they utilize Heuerman or Vannett in the passing game, there will be some mismatches.
3: Ezekiel Elliot - This guy is Eddie George with a beard. Down to how he wears his jersey. Ok maybe he's not to George's level yet, but he has it in him to become that.
4: Jalin Marshall/Dontre Wilson - Usually, you won't see these guys on the field at the same time, but Wilson is back from an injury that sidelined him the past 4 games (I think) and he's back. Marshall is bigger and harder to tackle due to that, but Wilson is faster and harder to tackle because he's elusive. They both run the same hybrid role.
5: Devin Smith - This is one of OSU's big throw threats and currently seems to be Jones' favorite target (although there's only one game to base it on) The thing to watch about this though is that Michael Thomas and Evan Spencer can also be big pass threats
I put it this way because there's a lot of focus on certain players, and it does make me feel a little giddy that certain players are never being mentioned, yet they are incredibly dangerous.
In short, the unnamed, the offensive line, if they do their job, it will be a long day for Alabama. So the real 5 players to watch? The Offensive line.
