Game Thread 2015 Spring Game, April 18th @ 1:30p ET (BTN)

Urban sure as hell doesn't blow smoke or bullshit ya. Lol It sometimes surprises me how little 'coach speak' he uses. Especially after Tress who was one coach speak cliche after another, and never really said anything and so forth. Lol

In a nutshell, the Spring game was like another practice, but it simulated a game atmosphere, and some shined(Corey Smith, Brionte Dunn, Terry McLaurin, Nick Conner, ChAse Farris, Erick Smith, Gareon Conley and of course Cardale) and others not so much(Stephen Collier, Curtis Samuel, Noah Brown, Jashon Cornell). Nobody looked terrible, but there wasn't a full cohesion because so many starters were missing. Brown and Samuel looked inconsistent but showed flashes. Samuel dropped a number of balls that you could tell if he caught them would be huge plays, and Brown just wasn't that consistent catching the ball, but it wasn't like Cardale wasn't trying to look for both guys, as they both got a good number of targets. Hopefully the light flashes on between no and Sept 7. I personally grew more comfortable watching Cardale out there, he seemed to make every throw, and with a flick of the wrist the ball was tossed 30-40yds like it was nothing, it was definitely a sight. I also will enjoy watching Brionte finally get into the RB rotation be the battering ram we wish Rod Smith would've become, as he looked good the few times he ran it, and also caught the ball well on check downs. A very entertaining day, but not enough backups made a splash like initially thought. But a lot of talent to work from

If anyone thinks Meyer will let this team get complacent, they're dreaming. He's going to jab this team most of the year to keep them motivated. It reminds me of how professional coaches like Greg Popovich, Phil Jackson and Bill Belichek used the media to poke and prod their team into staying hungry, and even after being champions makes them feel like underdogs. Genius strategy if the team all buys in

I've only watched the first half, so far, but I agree about Dunn. He seems to have bought in and Urban seems to be willing to reward that. I know he didn't have the greatest completion percentage, the throw that Powell picked was terrible, and I've been a JTB proponent in the 3QB debate. That said, Cardale throws a football for distance and with power with less effort than I can toss a tennis ball and his running looked a little better as while he was obviously in a black shirt he got to the second-level and the touch-tackle very quickly for a guy his size. If he puts together anywhere near the whole package, his season will be record-setting.

I believe BTN like to refer to it as "embarrassment of riches." How many times did they use that one during the broadcast? LOL!
Glen Mason is nails on a chalk board.

Ahia State
Never heard the term "embarrassment of riches" and couldn't get it right after his third attempt
All intensive purposes

The guy kills me.
