Game Thread 2015 National Championship Game: (2) Oregon vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 12th @ 8:30p ET, ESPN

Thought I would stroll through the Ducks forums one more time. These poor Duck fans are strong in denial. They do not want to admit that Ohio State was just the better team and they got pounded into the ground. To them, it's all about the "momentum" and how they "almost" stopped us a few times and that was the difference.

No. The difference is we have Urban Meyer and you don't. We have players from Ohio and you (pretty much) don't. If they want another shot, I'd be glad to watch them go 0-10 against us next year.

Meh, having been in their shoes in 2006, I can understand the feeling of "what happened?" I mean, they were pretty much told it was in the bag, Heisman winning quarterback, and all you had to do was watch the game because you were going to mop the floor with the overrated team you're playing.

And then you watch, and no matter what, you have no answer.

Look back at the 2006 championship thread here, we had TONS of excuses. If Ginn had not been injured, or as people said around Cbus, that Troy didn't take the game seriously, there were tons. In the end, we just had to say "we got our asses kicked." The Ducks fans will sooner or later accept it, until then though, you have to admit, it's kind of amusing to watch.

Actually I got my first GPA when I said that we got our asses kicked - especially along the lines in 2006.

Although some of the other things might have mattered for the final score - Ginn getting hurt certainly upset the game plan, Troy showing up heavy didn't help, the offensive line not blocking anyone wasn't good - in the end Florida just beat Ohio State's collective ass.

According to Oregon fan, the Ducks lost the game because of:

1) Injuries. Alright, let's replay that game with Jeff Lockie at quarterback instead of Marcus Mariota. Do the Ducks even score?

2) Dropped passes. 2 dropped passes >>>>> 4 turnovers. Mkay....

3) Failure to make adjustments on defense. Apparently the defensive coordinator should've told his players how to make tackles from the supine position.

I think excuses come with only being a relevant team for maybe ten years. For some reason the Oregon fans believed they deserved this national championship game because we already had 7 and they have 0, this was the exact line I got from the two Oregon fans I watched the game with. Also if you cant win a game with a plus four turnover margin then it should be obvious to even Mark May that you got dominated.

On the other side, Darren Lee did play like Superman!
Darren Lee was Superman from the beginning of the season!
Just an amazing feat!
Kudos to Luke Fickel for seeing his potential and developing it!darrenlee.jpg

Kind of hard to tackle when you are a "skinny" team as a whole. I believe it was Eddie George who said it before the game that he was surprised at how small Oregon was and that they would have a tough time being physical with us and that is exactly what happened
But, America....we put the notion of Oregon being soft to bed. Didn't we? America? We asked nicely on top of a soap box. Wasn't that enough, America?
