Game Thread 2015 National Championship Game: (2) Oregon vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 12th @ 8:30p ET, ESPN

Why is there so little coverage of the national championship on the BTN? They whined all year that the B1G likely wouldn't get a team in and Ohio State rises up and its near radio silence. This conference deserves a better network.
I told you guys you should have gone with espn...

And espn guys were some of the first to talk about OSU deserving a spot a few weeks before the season's end.

LOL I have seen a lot more coverage of the national championship on the SEC network...just being honest here.
Exactly. For some reason, we only care about our conference when we are out of it, but then we root for the team that put us out.

The only reason any of us sec fans aren't rooting for OSU is urban Meyer. Most of us (myself included) don't like the way he found himself there and don't like the way he ran the Florida program.

What is the programming bulk like on the SEC Network vs the B1G Network?

It seems to me that there is a lot more to fill time with on the B1G that people actually watch.

Not to say there shouldn't be more NCG coverage, but you can't fill a 24hr schedule with non-stop coverage from Fort Worth.

Maybe I'm naive, but I believe Urban's story about how his perspective on life/football/players has changed since he was at UF.

It's one thing to hate the guy for what he did, it's another to hold his past against him when it seems evident that things have changed.

Sec network shows a lot of Cbb right now. They also cover sports like gymnastics. They spend a couple hours a day on cfb, which happens to be one game right now, as well as recruiting and transfers.

I don't hate him. I'm not a fan.

You may be naive, but I haven't noticed the off the field issues with OSU that he had with florida. So, you may not be naive.

I firmly believe he went to OSu because he thought that gave him the easiest route to a NCG. Instead of just saying it and doing it, he claimed a lot of other rEasons that didn't really fit. I don't respect that, but it may not even be true.

You'll have to explain to me that reasoning.

That assumes that he; 1. Left UF knowing (not hoping) he would be ending up at Ohio State, 2. Somehow rationalized that it would be easier to recruit top talent to Ohio State and make a championship run than it would be with a program that he had already done that with twice, and 3. intentionally burned bridges at UF that could easily be made use of if he had every intention of coaching again soon by lying to everyone as he left.

Those are all reasons that "don't really fit".

Since you have this firm belief, please enlighten us- what are these reasons he claimed he came to OSU and why don't they fit?

Urban would have taken this job, no matter what the alternative was. This is his dream job. If you believe he was blowing smoke when he said so, it's because you didn't grow up in Ohio watching Ohio State play every Saturday the way that Urban did. The way that all of us did. Route to the NCG had nothing to do with it. Urban was happy as a pig in shit the first year he was here and went undefeated, when we weren't even eligible for the bowl season. Making a boatload of money while doing so.

Having the chance of being the coach at UF or being the coach of tOSU when you grew up an Ohio kid isn't even debatable. He would have came here first without question if granted the opportunity, but he wasn't. If it was me? I wouldn't have even blinked about dumping Florida when the opportunity arose. They'll never understand what it's like. Football in Florida is nothing compared to football here and you won't catch me with regret in stating this fact.

That's exactly my point. I know he wanted to go to OSU. The way he left Florida to do it wasn't right IMO.

Well, he ended up going to hard route. Said route also took us though Bama. So the 'why' he came to tOSU is rather irrelevant.

He wanted to go to OsU. Instead of just leaving Florida because he said he wanted to, he came up with his "health scares" and "family time" issues once he lost sec dominance.

If you were his family, wouldn't you be pissed if he said he was going to quit coaching to finally spend time with you, but then was like, "nevermind guys, we're moving to Ohio! I'll see you at Christmas and July fourth!"
