Game Thread 2015 National Championship Game: (2) Oregon vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 12th @ 8:30p ET, ESPN

Getting somewhat back on track, with the title game win Ohio State became the only FBS team with two 14-win seasons. Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, and Boise State each have one 14-win season. Marshall has a 15-0 season, but that was back in 1996 when they were I-AA (now FCS).

wow

Two, 14-0 seasons

That's 28 wins

By contrast the scUM SR class of 2010 had 24 wins in their 4 year careers. The scUM class of 2015 will begin their SR seasons with 20 wins.

The best video I have seen on the 2014 season. Sorry, I can't get a link to post but if you slide over to 11 Warriors...

"RELIVE OHIO STATE'S NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON WITH THIS FANTASTIC VIDEO

Finally, the video Ohio State's championship season deserves; Eleven Warriors' reader dcreeg, take a bow, lad.

Reeg forwarded this 26 minute capstone, and the only feedback he's going to get from me will be in the form of the contractor's estimate to repair my shanty.

By my rough estimations, you could watch this video 11,480 times before Ohio State kicks off the 2015 campaign in Blacksburg."

TRULY AWESOME, AWESOME PIECE. IF THIS DOESN'T MAKE YOU PROUD TO BE A BUCKEYE, YOU DON'T HAVE A PULSE.

This thread has become a "2014 was awesome" thread. So, I'll continue that.
I count 8 night games for Ohio State this year: Virginia Tech, Illinois, Cincinnati, Michigan State, Penn State, BTCG (Wisconsin), Sugar Bowl (Alabama), NCG (Oregon)
Am I missing any?
Is there a record for number of night games in a year by a team?

Don't know, but think the Buckeyes will set it in the near future. Urbs has said he wants to increase the number of night games, all the better to put and keep the Bucks in prime time and the national conversation.

So I decided to rewatch the Sugar Bowl and the NCG. Upon review, a few things really stood out to me:

1) Pat Elflein is a freaking stud. To be completely honest, I thought he was a gap-filler in a down recruiting year at the heels of JT leaving. I rewatch both games and time after time he is mauling down on a crucial block. And then moving down to center in the Bama game when Boren was briefly out. What he brings to our OL is incredible and he is such an unsung hero. If he is not all B1G next year (assuming he brings it again), something is wrong in the world. And really Boren could be praised that highly as well, kid is a freaking warrior...that gets lost to some I think just because we expect that from the Boren lineage. Obviously the whole OL did great but Elflein really stood out to me.

2) Nick Vannett: I already liked him and knew he was a great blocker, but I did not realize he was an elite blocker until I rewatched the games. So many plays he sprung a huge play (see also Evan Spencer here) and also was a receiving threat. His trap blocks though:boogie:

3) The defense was night and day different from earlier in the season. Before, the offense would commit a turnover and the defense rolled over. But in the last 3 games, they had the offense's backs. They are going to be fun to watch next year.

- That is all I have right now but I woke up and realized we are still national champions. And damn it still feels good.
