Every year when I look at this thread, 39 days reminds me of Curtis Enis from Penn State. I moved to Columbus as a 6 year old kid and had never been to a Buckeye football game before. That 1996 game between Ohio State and Penn State was my first Buckeye game and I will never forget hearing about #39, Curtis Enis, from the people around me in the stands. It's just one of those things I'll never cease thinking about when I see the #39.

I have a different memory of Enis.

My cousin and I were playing Enis and his posse in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament and, my cousin being my cousin, he got into with Enis to the point of nearly starting a brawl.

So my memory of Enis is him standing with his back to me, facing my cousin and obviously getting ready to kill him (dude was a mutant). Not about to let that happen without getting in at least one shot I was sizing up the back of his skull for my sucker punch and remember thinking how it would shatter every bone in my hand. I have never seen a human being with a skull that thick. Discretion being the better part of valor I sized up his kidney area was content to get all 215 lbs or so of myself behind the right hand that was going there before his posse, in their turn, killed me.

Thankfully no one ever swung and the refs defused the situation but for about a minute I was actually making my peace with going to my grave knowing that cocksucker would be thinking about me as he pissed blood for a week after they killed me.

So needless to say I'm not a big fan
