Not going to waste my Xmas Eve watching the juggalos, but it appears that they got their asses whipped. Considering that they have one of the very highest athletic department subsidies in the country, I don't see how they can give TT a multi-million dollar buyout. Then again, NOTHING juggalo state does is sane, rational, realistic or responsible, so I'm sure that they'll do it.
I don't know how big the buyout would be, but are probably right about being unable to afford it. The smart thing to do is refuse to give Tuberville an extension and let the contract run, which means they'll probably announce his extension this week. The guy is one of the highest paid head coaches in the G5 (2.5 million I believe) and as far as I can tell he's just phoning it in.
Ono is so obsessed with positioning UC to get into the B12 that I believe he'll go further into debt to buy out Tuberville. I think most of the people affiliated with UC don't realize and are self-deluding about the fact that their success last decade was the result of catching a series of hot, young coaches on the way up rather than any real foundation and resources (see the budget) present to become a top-tier program. I doubt that they'll catch Dantonio>>Kelley>>Davis type lightening in the bottle again.
I'm tired of hearing about the exceptionalism--the greatness--of the mediocre, especially from self-serving lips such as his. In the current QS world university ranks, Ohio State is in the top 100...UC doesn't crack the top 500. On the football field? They guy is a shameless self-promoter. He's literally had the playing of the national anthem turned into a celebration of the cult of personality that he's built up around himself down there. He has a big mouth and delusions of grandeur but is really just riding on the coattails of what Nancy Zimpher did in making the place a somewhat more respectable university and less a regional commuter school.

I'd say Davis was more like static electricity in a bottle. But anyway, it will be more difficult to attract coaches in the AAC than it was in the Big East, but I think UC can still hire up and comers from the MAC and CUSA that are looking for a stepping stone to the P5.
Oh boy, I had allowed myself to forget that one. Not good for your sis. Hoping she got some scholly money for that one! Still embarrassed.Hey, at least you didn't have to sit through this one
