2014 Week 4 CFB Open Thread

For me, the point is that they beat Wisconsin. Virginia Tech beats Ohio State and then falls apart, or were they already what they seem to be?

It says something about the B1G to everyone outside the B1G and a lot of folks inside.

Is the plan to put them down so far that no matter what happens they can never climb back into the top 4? Seems to be working.

Since the top 4 is not poll-based, I think the mediots are trying desperately to either keep fringe contenders out of the national consciousness and/or give themselves a ready-made story if/when a team outside of the top 4 in the polls gets selected.

This top-4 committee thing is the worst set up imaginable and it's going to be fun watching this flaming bag of dogshit burn.

Agreed re the committee. I'll be amazed if there isn't a screaming controversy raging come December. And I could do without the thought of a tiny group of people huddled around a conference table deciding in secret who will contend.

Yup - look at the last 10 years historically, there is virtually never 4 clear cut superior teams. It's usually one or two (and in cases like 2007, 0) and then a muddle of 1 or 2 loss teams, some of which beat each other already.

Not poll based but somehow I bet every year the 1,2,3 and either 4 or 5 makes it in. The only way to fix it is not have polls which would be amazing.
