2014 TSUN Shenanigans and Arguments

that and find the recruiting forums again

he haunted the fuck out of those when he thought Brady was the savior (of course it was to just get information that couldn't be found anywhere else on the web)

his thirst for recruiting info fell off dramatically as the losses piled up

With the frequency you quote my posts and interact with me, I get the feeling I haunt your dreams more than any of these forums

You said it. Sounds like you and all your fellow UM fan base members will jump right off the bandwagon. It's a September ritual.

Well, to be truthful, I think this is their best hire since they lost Lloyd Carr, who I actually thought was a decent coach. He got us at a bad time but he still did some good stuff, so optimism is to be expected. Hell, that could do worse. I just hope that the rumors of salary are true, I mean if this guy makes as much or more than an English Premier League coach, that will cause some eyebrows to raise over how much is made in college football, however, that's a converstation for another thread.

Certainly you guys have figured out I'm not part of the lunatic fringe by now.

Back of the bus scummer, you're all the same :)

I would argue soccer is the best. You look at La Liga and the Premier League. Each team (20 teams total) plays each other with a home and away for a total of 38 games with no playoffs. The team with the most points at the end of the year is the champions. Very simple.

Nah, Bundesliga uber alles.

Was USA Hockey the best program in the world when they beat the Russians with a bunch of college kids? Or were they just the best team that day? The final 4 in football is a hell of a lot different than the 12 teams that get into the NFL playoffs. Is there a sub .500 (or the college version of an 8-4 team) in the playoff? What if Carolina wins the Super Bowl? Are they then the best team in the NFL? Or were they just the hottest at the right time?

Tournaments are a legit form of competition imo... but this is yet again a place where soccer gets it right.
They separate the Tournament Cups from the Leagues. It makes Doubles and Triples all the more coveted and a better representation for "historical teams".
It's worth noting the League (several round robins) is more coveted and regarded as the most difficult to win -- causing a lot of 2nd tier teams to focus more on League and National Cups (tournaments), but they are nonetheless highly celebrated trophies as well.

The great thing about this hire? tsun is celebrating the "savior" of their program 2 days before tOSU will play in the national semi-final. You truly have to love where each program is currently. And outside of aa, who truly expects Jimbo to get them to the level of tOSU before he jumps ship? He will leave them in better shape than they are currently, but they'll still be behind where Urban has (and will have) the Bucks.
