2014 Spring Game, April 12th @ 1:30p ET

The QBs don't inspire confidence but there is time for improvement. Still it's worrisome. Barrett brings the running QB more to the table so maybe that's a game advantage but it's so hard to tell anything from these games.
Dunn looks motivated and like a Big running back.
The WRs showed some ability but it's really too early to fully buy into us being better there.
Now, the defense looks positively worlds better than last year and that brings great hope! Apple will be hard to keep off the field.
Kicking looks fine.
Did Collier get any snaps at all? My DVR cut out shortly after the second half started.

Honestly the the biggest issue needing addressed was the pass defense. It was also the most evident change from last season to what we saw today. The QB play wasn't great but there weren't a lot windows to throw through with corners playing tight press coverage. There wasn't a lot of seperation and LB play was much better than expected out of Worley, lee, and McMillan. RB's didn't get a lot of opportunities to showcase their skills. The press coverage smack you in the mouth coverage will bring this defense back to the silver bullets we're used to seeing.

I'm still ticked that I was one play away from capturing Mike's sweet one handed catch. The spring game is tough because you have to cover both directions and gamble about what to miss.

I really liked how Hill and Munger looked side by side at DT on the scarlet team.

I know you never bet against a Boren, but he is undersized at C. It's nice having Price as a viable alternative if not the starter as he is anything but undersized.

Similarly to Hill and Munger, Lisle and Trout look like Ohio State offensive linemen. They obviously have some work to do but I'm excited about their future (not to mention the rest of the guys coming in the fall).

I thought McMillan made some nice plays in space which is encouraging.

I am cautiously optimistic about Reeves at corner. He obviously had some bad moments last year, but I thought he looked confident out there and he made some plays.

I want to reemphasize that the play calling was meant to challenge the young QBs rather than to move the ball down the field and score points- I think that explains a lot of the floundering... that and the many starters sitting out along with the usual "splitting the team" spring game excuse.

My biggest concern on offense is the line. At the same time, with Braxton (who hopefully can stay healthier) leading the way, I think the WRs will be much improved, I think the RBs will be extremely successful (probably with a different style led by Elliot); overall I am optimistic the offense won't drop off from last season.

We still have the opportunity to have a good power run game with Smith, Dunn and Ball, however, I think that's the area where the new offensive line might hurt the most.

At the same time, there are an insane number of weapons for a defense to worry about and the power run game could still be extremely effective even with the new OL with a well balanced attack.

If there is any drop off on O, I think it will easily be balanced out but as least as much improvement (if not much, much more) from the defense.

I think this will be a very enjoyable season.
