2014 NCAA Basketball Tournament (official thread)

Louisville versus Kentucky, and five days of hype for it. Just give me one of these Friday.

You think it's bad for you? I have to work in that state.

Grudgingly, go Cards.

I suspect I'll actually end up leaning towards Kentucky this time. I guess...I don't know.

The match up reminds me why I sometimes don't even watch the Final Four. Two teams with obnoxious coaches, and fan bases, with media slobbering all over them. At least in the Sweet 16 there will be another game on at the same time.

Ohio State 7 games against top 10 teams in Massey's power ratings, 10 games against top 50 teams
Witchita State 0 games against top 10 teams in Massey's power rating, 3 games against top 5 teams (including the loss to Kentucky).

The buggers shot 50% from 3 point range and still couldn't beat Kentucky. They should never have been a #1 seed.

:slappy:

I wondered who would be the first. They lost to five 5 star players, who were ranked #1 in the country to start the season and many thought would win the title, by 2 points.

Meanwhile, Duke - a 3 seed with NBA talent - lost to Mercer. Kansas - a 2 seed - lost to a team of eggheads with 12 losses. Funny no one is questioning their seeding. And let's not forget 3 seed Syracuse, who lost to Dayton and all of their future NBA stars.

Had they lost by 30 you may have had a point. They lost by 2.
