Only 8 countries made last years round of 16 and this years, so quite the accomplishment by the US.

Fortunately Jermaine Jones has gone from being a Ricardo Clark redux candidate to Exhibit A on why stationing more black dudes in Germany is in our national interest.I'm going to take back what I said about Bradley before the WC. Maybe I jinxed him.
Obviously the draw plays such a large role, and this sport can be a cruel game sometimes with 1 mistakes ruining 4 years of work- but I'm hopeful that getting out of the group stage can become the normal expectation moving forward in this country. Back to back World Cups is a start.
So happy to get through. Now it's anyone's guess.
(oh and I was in attendance for their only group win in 2014. BOOM!)
Would be really cool to beat Belgium on Tuesday, only twice have they reached the quarterfinals
I generally loathe ESPN but their coverage of this World Cup has been outstanding. FOX should be taking notes for 2018.
There have been times where it seems like the camera guys aren't used to the constant play of soccer, and they'll show a replay of a foul or something, and the camera isn't even focused on the foul occurring. Other than that, it's been pretty solid.I don't know ... I mean, the coverage has been a 10, for sure, but I think some fucking robots and Gus Johnson calling the games would take this bitch to 11.
I like Yedlin's energy but I liken him to a 3rd down "see ball, get ball" pass rusher at the moment. I hope I'm wrong but I just have the feeling that he's gonna bring some headaches along with excitement, especially in his first few starting assignments. Is the WC the best place for that, or does Klinsmann continue to use him as a sub to spark the offense?I love the energy Yedlin brings and I was screaming for him to come in this afternoon at the 55 minute mark when we couldnt get out of our own end. If Jozy is indeed back next game and we could add Yedlin, keep Gonzalez and push some more, I think we win the match. I'd love to see us win a Final 16 game one of these days.

Agreed with those who say Bradley needs a breather. I don't care how much ground he covers...'hustle' is a tool but it better not be your only tool.
1.2% chance of winning it all.
