I know people have posted updated sheets and what not about how the US will advance; saw this on CBS Sports and will paste below since a little easier to read

United States (4 points, +1 GD) – vs. Germany
•Will win the group with a win over Germany.
•Will advance with a draw against Germany.
•Will advance with a loss to Germany and a Ghana-Portugal draw.
•Will advance with a loss to Germany and a Portugal win in which they don't pass the United States in goal differential.
•Will advance with a loss to Germany and a one-goal Ghana win in which they don't score two more goals than the United States.

These scenarios are all so complicated. Would be so much simpler if we just averaged two human polls and six computer polls.

Some photos from the pre-match party:

And then we marched the hell of that city to the stadium. Absolutely INCREDIBLE.

Yes, it goes back BLOCKS towards the top of the picture. Yanks went marching.

Seriously. Time of my life.

I'm the guy in the 50 Stars jersey in that pic. It was incredible both pre match and the thing US Soccer hosted the night before.

The way it went down was worse then the actual result. US is still sitting relatively pretty. I think they'll play Germany tough, and either tie or take a 1 goal loss. But Ghana tied them, so is a win truly out of the question?

This WC has been crazy. Expect the unexpected. It was pissing me off to see players and commentators act as if the game was over. With arguably the best player in the world on the field? I know that in soccer the better team on paper often wins, but has no one learned from what's happened so far?

US better bring it against Germany. I don't like the friendly draw because this is sport after all, and because it lowers that intensity level for a game. The US should be using this game as a test to see where they stand among the truly elite. I wouldn't want anything but Germany's best.

You've gotta be [Mark May]ting me.........

 This was my only reaction...I mean what do you say? Fucker plays one quality ball all day, and it's a whistler across the face of goal for a game-tier. It was kind of the same when Messi hit the goal against Iran (he played harder, he just didn't get much of anything going until stoppage). Heartbroken to me would be Howard spilling one or giving up the first goal the second time. That was just a hell of a ball.

I don't know why they'd be drop-dead happy with a tie either...I mean yes, you advance, but to me there's a big talent drop-off between Belgium and Algeria/Russia in the next round. At least try and win the fucker, then be happy with a draw.

They as in Germany or the US? A tie gives Germany the top seed from our group. Unless you mean the US, but in that case I think they would gladly "forfeit" the chance for the top seed if they were guaranteed a tie to just get in in general.

Edit: And I'm not saying that would ever happen. The game may be played more cautiously by both sides which very well could lead to a 0-0 draw, but I sure don't think there's going to be some pre-game agreement or anything.
