2014 Bowl Games Open Thread

I don't care how Oregon looks. We finally got Boise back down where they belonged. If they win this, we'll have to hear all about the "spunky" Broncos again.

Go Rich Rod.

But it'll get better if Boise State wins and then we get to hear all year about how the BXII should add them 8D

I would go with TCU had a chip on their shoulder after the playoff snub, but IDK what happened. Ole Miss uses jet sweeps to run the ball and doesn't have a power run game. TCU was fast and evidently ready outside. Ole Miss defense must not have shown up. I'm at work and have not seen a play of the game.

So haven't a seen play of the game, but already in full-blown excuse mode.
It's interesting how when Bama falls just short and loses one of the elite bowls, it's because they didn't want to be there.
But when TCU falls just short and obliterates Ole Miss, it's because they have a chip on their shoulder.

Thanks for demonstrating how the same excuse can be used to rationalize anything.

TCU 42, Ole Miss 3

Ole Miss with 129 yards of total offense on 64 plays (2.02 yards per play)

Ole Miss with 19 yards rushing on 37 attempts (0.51 yards per rush)

Ole Miss with four turnovers and sacked 5 times

Question: Does Ohio State still have the worst loss among the playoff teams? Or does Alabama now own that distinction?

I don't think anyone questioned if TCU "belonged in the conversation". Of course they did. But it's a four team playoff. There were going to be a couple of one-loss teams left out of it.

TCU vs Ole Miss game recap
Attendance was 65,706, ending the Peach Bowl's streak of 17 consecutive sellouts.

So TCU couldn't sell out the Peach Bowl. And people are wondering why TCU got left out of the playoffs?

TCU beat an awful team. *golf clap*

The only reason Bama fans will deny it is because they lost to said awful team. Any other year (or if they had taken care of business this year) Bama fans would tell you Ole Miss is, in fact, awful.

I know how tempting that was to say. Still not going to mention that 7-6 team.
