The 1 non power 5 being assured a NY6 bowl is a stupid rule IMO.

Boise "earned" it by looking awful and losing to the only upper caliber team they played (Ole Miss) losing a conference game to Air force. And Culminating their season with a conference championship over a 6 win Fresno team...

It is a stupid rule. It should have a requirement of a top 10 ranking IMO for a non power 5 team.

Eh. Teams are what they are. A conference doesn't make or break them (except in the media's eyes).

LSU and Ole Miss were bad and not great teams, respectively. Auburn and Alabama are still good and great, respectively.

This does affect perception by the media, though.

The truth is the SEC has had some dominant conference champions. The myth is the entire conference are a bunch of powerhouses.
