To be fair, he's not considered to be at a high risk of fatality based on his epilepsy, from what I can see. He doesn't suffer from many (severe epileptics suffer anywhere from 1 a day to as many as dozens) and he's taking medications that assist in that. He hasn't suffered from any brain trauma in the past from seizures either.

Kill has helped rebound that program, and while I'll always be upset with Minny for letting Mason go, they should keep Kill. The kids play hard for him, you don't hear of many problems off the field, and to boot if they fired him they'd have a lawsuit so large they'd wish they never had thought of it!

They've got a system in place to take over when he's unable to go, but overall I think this is "common" enough now for the team that it isn't a huge distraction.

Maybe. I don't know. Just seems like it would HAVE to me a distraction. Maybe not. 2-3 times a season going down during games seems like it would be distressing to me.

I think at first it had to be, or for incoming freshman. But the rest of the team being used to it probably eases it, and I wouldn't be surprised if rival coaches/recruiters used it against him.

I've seen several seizures. I don't know how you ever get used to that.

From what I've read on his latest seizure, it was at his home and no one saw it.

@HorseshoeFetish, North Dakota State surely would have to use it.

I'm sure you felt a little helpless to do anything about it either. I think that's what could make his condition kind of tough on the players. Of course he has probably told them the only way they can help him is keeping their focus on the game if he has a seizure.

I've seen one seizure when I worked at WPAFB. I'll be happy to never have to see another one in my life.
