2013 Week 14 B1G FB Open Thread

I still think the smart play is going after Craig Bohl. The last hot B1G coordinator (Chryst) isn't exactly lighting it up at Pitt.

Bohl could give the finger to this place. He was the sacrifical lamb after 2001. I always thought Solich should have went, but they blamed everything on Bohl.

He's a Husker through and through. Played here. Born and raised in Lincoln, so he knows the expectations here. Not to mention that the guy seems to be a pretty damn good head coach right now.

Is Bo really gone if NU loses this game? I actually think Iowa's decent this year and certainly wouldn't be surprised to see Iowa win this game (even with it being in Lincoln).
It's not this game, it's a culmination of things. They've shown no real progress in his six years. Every season has been essentially the same, and in CFB, if you ain't improving, you're in trouble.

I don't think he goes if they barely lose this game. I think he goes if there's a blowout, and he doesn't make a change after this game on his staff.

People are saying, "Well, why fire him after 9 wins for 5 seasons?" Eichorst has the "I'm the new guy and I want my guy in here cause I'm stuck with the guy before me's mess" card that he can play.

Nebraska has lacked a certain toughness for a very long time. Used to be that when teams lined up against them, they figured they were gonna be punched in the mouth with the running game.

At halftime, the running game has less than 30 yards rushing. Michigan type numbers...
Ameer came into this game with 10 straight 100 yard rushing games. He's got 16 yards at the half.

That's why there has to be SOME kind of a change in Lincoln. If not with the head coach, the staff has to be shuffled.

And beyond that, the players are all head cases right now. Take that punt returner for instance. He didn't catch the first punt that was downed on the 1, so the next time out, because he was almost certainly screamed at by his coaches, he made a fair catch inside the 3.

Pelini is a lot like Muschamp. He's unstable emotionally and that instability has resulted in a team that lacks an edge and has no consistency, much like Florida now.
