That was a bad spot...I don't think he got the 1st down, but it should be inches instead of a yard.

EDIT: And Bell gets tackled in the back field anyway. Being inches would have let him just go over the top to get it.

Inches would have changed the call to Dave Bell up the middle. Easier to make that, even with the stacked box. But yes, I noticed he got screwed out of half a yard. Refs watching his feet not where the ball is.
