2013 Week 1 CFB Open Thread

OK, so this is new territory for us and maybe a bit of a departure from the way we've done things before. Betting events no longer create threads where game discussion naturally takes place. That'll be nice since we won't have a multitude of game threads cluttering the forum. We do need to have a place for the live discussion to take place though, so here's what we're gonna try.

Some games are noteworthy enough to get their own threads. Tonight's UNC - South Carolina game is one of them, and there are sure to be others this weekend. This thread is for the other lesser games that people will want to discuss but don't necessarily deserve their own threads.

Let's try to take advantage of the way the new BP works and keep the discussions organized.

Enjoy the season!

So, this is where we can see all the news about the Juggaloes? Good.

I work with a Vol fan and he damn near pissed his pants at Vandy. HAHAHA!!! Entertaining game though.

USC has been fortunate to hit a rash of injuries in the spring and fall too, it's been beautiful. They haven't been able to hit full go in some practices, and as a result the Rainbow Warriors have been the more physical team. USC's defense has looked good, but yeah...that offense is pretty vanilla and conservative thus far. I expect Kiffin is content with falling back on the defense in this one. They won't have to really open up the playbook at the latest until Arizona State at the end of September. If Graham can get settled in and find his receivers, this would be even more enjoyable.

As an aside, USC looked...pretty bad. Their OL is still a work in progress. Their QB situation is far from settled, and to me, neither of their guys looked very good. Lee was dropping passes. Their DBs looked mediocre (despite being gifter 4 pretty bad INTs). Stupid procedural penalties. I know it's week 1, but doesn't look like much has changed in Kiffin-land. That looks like, at best a 4 loss team.
