I think it was a very good strategy to have the game in PBS, and surprised more schools don't do the same if they have close NFL stadiums. Recruits will go wherever to see the game as will fans. Osu is big enough where they have alumni all over the country and especially all over ohio. Wouldn't be surprised more if urban does this again in the future. Filling more than half of PBS in a city sometimes seen as not as pro-buckeye as the rest of the state is actually a pretty good sign. I definitely like having it in the shoe, but also like the way the staff is innovative in their process of finding new ways to arouse the fan base around the entire state and not just central ohio and northern.

They didn't do this to "arouse the fan base around the entire state". They did this because of renovations in The Shoe. You won't see another spring team outside of The Shoe again aside from future renovations...

Spring game was fun yesterday, FIL had a great time. We came away very impressed with Braxton, it was definitely a passing clinic yesterday. Someone commented on Washington and Spence picking up a number of sacks on Braxton, but tbh with the QBs off limits aside from Cardale, Braxton would have escaped at least a few of the sacks that were whistled dead. I thought Philly looked good, and Spencer caught some long passes if I recall, looked good as a deep threat. The defense looked good at stopping the run, even with Shazier out. I think Hyde was out too, I tried to keep my eyes out open for him, but didn't see him. Probably why there wasn't a lot of running. He may have been banged up, I haven't checked. Grant had some huge hits over the middle, he loves contact.

Yeah Hyde, Rod Smith, Jordan Hall, Shazier, Roby, Nick Vannett, Corey Linsley, and Jack Mewhort were out.

Not surprising. As many benefits as have been pimped for holding the game in Cincy, I just never bought it. You estrange the students and the alumni who cannot travel from Columbus. I realize things need done for our brand on the Ohio River, but I just never felt this was the answer. Recruits have a heck of a time getting down and figuring the visit out, especially those OOS guys. I suppose I understand changing things up this year with "modest" renovations...but in the future, please keep this in the 'Shoe for the students and let the non-Central Ohioans make the travel arrangements, not the students.

The Cincinnati media gives at least as much, if not more attention to UK as it does OSU. That has to change, and the sooner the better. I really think that was what that had a lot to do with yesterday's game.

The Cincinnati media gives at least triple the coverage of UK versus OSU. They give at least double the coverage to Notre Dame. They give as much, if not slightly more coverage to Louisville and scUM.

That is the reason they held the spring game in Cincy.

One Spring game doesn't mean much statistically, but that never stopped me before.

I compared Miller and Gardner for Spring 2013 and found they were essentially tied in QB rating wise.

tOSU had a strong advantage in the number 2 QB.

Miller improved on his 2012 season total of 140.

If Miller's stats for the Spring stayed the same for the entire 2013 season and the 2013 NCAA QB field stays at the 2012 NCAA QB level, Miller will be 7th nationally for 2013.

Yes, I have made far too many extrapolations.
