2013 Preseason and regular polls

Yeah, I read it. Travis Haney with the 'Auburn's resume is better' argument. I posted the screen grab because the lede on the main CFB portal is Adelson's OSU is more deserving argument, not Haney's Auburn piece.

Auburn lost a game by 14 points. Doesn't matter how good your résumé is if you can't pass the background check.

Auburn is 25 points behind Ohio St in coaches poll. Not a ton to make up, but not sure why it would change if both beat Top 10 teams this wk
Between this and the fact that there's no way whoever those jokes that voted Ohio State 5th or 6th can do that next week (with Mizzou loss), I feel slightly better.

This whole thing is ridiculous, though.

Yeah, I'm thinking that some of the SEC coaches voted rather ridiculously in the last anonymous poll in an attempt to make Auburn #2 a fait accompli and lock them into that position for the final week. They failed, and at least a couple of them, if they have any shame at all, will vote more rationally in the poll that will become public. They'll still have Auburn #2 but won't have Ohio State fifth or sixth.

I'm looking forward to the scenario in which Mizzou beats Auburn, Duke beats Florida State, and the Buckeyes beat Sparty. WTF else can anyone do then but vote the Buckeyes #1?

Then the question becomes, who would we play in the NC game? I bet it would be Bama.

I don't see how anyone could vote a 1-loss Alabama over a 1-loss conference champion Mizzou. Plus, I'm sure that most of those SEC coaches would like to see the Saban train derailed just a bit.

No wonder they lost the war. They were fighting the north and had no idea where it was.

I'd rather have Florida st #1 and have Osu squeak by Mizzou by .0001 BCS pts so we can go in like one of Urbans previous NC teams
