2013 LSU Tiger Baseball

LSU hosts Brown, the worst baseball team the Ivy League has to offer, for 2 games this weekend.

Sunday rather than a 3rd game with Brown, we host my Alma Mater, Nicholls St.
Which will be the 1st game I attend this year.

needed a walk-off sac fly to beat Brown last night 4-3.

game 2 against them tonight 6:30

weather at The Box has not been favorable to hitting yet this year.
tonight may be the worst yet.

temps will drop into the 30's and winds will be whipping in from left.

LSU beat Nicholls St. today 2-0.

took my wife and 2 kids to the game.

GREAT seats 1st row behind the Nicholls bullpen.

a Nicholls assistant coach gave my youngest son an old baseball an hour or so before the game.

my kid then proceeded to get about half of Nicholls relievers and the guy who started today to sign his ball.

also managed to secure a signature from LSU's friday night ace.

after every Sunday home game, kids under 12 can run the bases.
so both my sons did that.

after touching home, my youngest one noticed his favorite player, Raph Rhymes standing near the dugout. Dude did a double take, then just walked right up to Rhymes and gave him a fist bump like it was perfectly natural to just walk up to your hero and fist bump him. then casually walked away.

was happy as hell to see the smile on the faces of them two kids, just wish I had seen it coming so i could have tried to get a pic of it happening.

beat Stephen F Austin last night 9-2.
up next is Sacred Heart tonight.

actual attendance has been abysmal so far this year.
paid attendance has been great as always, but a combination of less than favorable weather and a really weak schedule has us with around 50% no-shows on average.

averaging about 48% actual attendance vs. paid attendance.

considering more than half the people who bought tickets aren't even going to the games, it should be easier for someone like me to find decent seats.

this weekend's series should be a good one.
easily one of the best teams we'll play all year.

tonight, it's our ace against theirs, so runs will probably be hard to come by.

looking like a fairly strong breeze will be blowing out of their Trailer Park, which may boost the scoring a bit.
