2013-14 Bowl Games Open Thread

Actually it doesn't, without further analysis.

B1G teams are consistently seeded in bowls above their competency because our schools are big, they represent sizeable media markets, and their fans travel well. As a result our teams are more attractive to bowls than their talent would dictate, and we usually play teams that are a lot better -- not because of the other conferences' competency, but more because of their schools' relative feebleness in what they bring from advertising and attendance perspectives.
Seeded above their competency???? We're playing against other conference counterparts. If it's because we are above our competency then your merely conceding the truth that they are better. USC was the same "competency" as Wiscy. LSU roughly the same as Iowa and UGA and Nebraska. That's fair seeding. Obviously the Rose Bowl was fair seeding too as is the Orange Bowl. All the games were fair seeds, it just hasn't worked out for the B1G.
