2012 TSUN football news

Idk how you can predict how well a team will be with out spring/ summer/ and august practices or any games, then come up with the conclussion that if that team wins it will be the biggest down year.

But not going to argue, what ever floats your boat.

So as long as the prediction is for your team to win, it's rational and acceptable, but when someone says TSUN is gonna suck, there's not enough info? GTFOH

I don't think this has been posted before, but I found this workout routine interesting.

Former Michigan players Mike Martin, Kevin Koger, Ryan Van Bergen, Mark Huyge and Steve Watson participate in a recent workout with Mike Barwis in preparation for the NFL combine and the team's pro day. Barwis is Michigan's former strength and conditioning coach. Not shown is David Molk, who also is training at Barwis Methods.

Just so we're all clear, this workout would just amount to a warm-up for BB73 and OSUgrad21 when they pump the weights every morning.

They make 130lb dumbbells?

I've seen Derek Poundstone (World's Strongest Man competitor) train with dumbbells of 200 lbs or more.

In this video, Mike Martin wasn't handling the 130's with very good form though (notice how he arches his back), and was obviously getting some help from his spotter. He could have used better form with a slightly lower weight. :)

1.) Why the hell bench press 365 when you have a negative weight resist in the background as well as the spotter constantly touching and assisting you? I guess ego is a big part of the training.

2.) Glad to see form for injury prevention is focused on when doing cleans /sarcasm. And in case people care, those weren't full 45 pound plates. That was probably around 165 they were doing with those cleans.

3.) Again ego is present with the 130 pound dumbells. If your butt is lifting off the seat, it's way too much weight for you and it's way easier.

Now just in case it needs to be said, yes, I can lift those amounts. So I'm not trying to be a hater, I'm just a stickler for form and don't understand why people care more about ego (amount they lift) than strength (amount they really can lift)

I absolutely agree and thought the same while watching the video. Drop the weight and use better form, that advice cuts down the risk of injury from ego lifting. But far be it for mere mortals like us to critique the craft of a master like Barwis...
