Joshua Garnett to Stanford... so much for "HAVING THE BEST O-LINE HAUL THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN!!1!11!eleventy1!"

Yep, scUM swung and missed on Garnett alright. It's made all the better considering those clowns up north were predicting he'd spurn Stanford for scUM yesterday afternoon.

Michigan offered Glenville sleeper DT Willie Henry

Re the potential signing day surprise...

It is indeed Willie Henry... the young man on the visit.

Remember Brady has a strong relationship with Ginn, so it will likely be relatively easy to swoop in and snatch this kid late.

Will keep you posted...

Bill Greene comes in and has a lot of good things to say about him, but makes it clear that he's not on par with the DL they've brought in so far (including Strobel).

Which they ignore, opting instead for hyperbole
This kids video is just as good as any other recruit we have so far. I love smaller, quick DT prospects. And this kid fits the bill to a T. He was running down RB from behind. He has more foot speed then Pee Wee does. Very impressive kid. I would love to get this kid in this class......
And those teams he was playing in that video are all very good teams in the Cleveland area. He was playing top notch competition.

this kid is twice the athlete obrien or schutt are. provides better flexibility. could play 3tech. this kid is explosive, and his senior film is pretty damm good. better than obrien IMO.
Which is to be expected. Fans are emotional and not paid for balanced, credible takes. Along comes a lead reporter of GBW for his breakdown:

but we couldnt take obrien or schutt?

Michigan passed on both guys... not the other way around. They obviously like this kid better.

Oh, that's right, GBW employees are held to the same standards. Sam Webb is paid to pander to his subscribers and tell half of the story, or just make it up entirely (see his pure fiction about how Urban went after AJ Williams, Blake Bars & Joe Bolden to manufacture victories for Hoke to combat Urban's avalanche of momentum).

They didn't like him better. They chose to not take another DT until Stonum & Garnett's spots were no longer filled, at which point Schutt was not available. They obviously have no relevance to each other (maybe they do like Willie better but that assumption has no basis), but leaving out context in those situations is what Sam Webb does best.

Well, when you have an incredibly insecure fanbase with a rather large inferiority complex with their two main rivals, I guess the "insiders" have to pander to the little fairies. I still find it laughable anybody pays money to that site for anything other than comic relief.
