On Step 1 to an exciting finish with Washington's commit. I wonder how the numbers finish out to the scholarships this year. Do we have 5 more out there? We could be in for an exciting finish to the recruiting season if Meyer becomes coach...:highfive:
Part of the problem with hiring Meyer is that he has been out of the game for a year, and isn't up to speed with the 2012 recruits. If Meyer takes the job, then I presume that he will have to rely on the current staff's efforts, and continue to target the players who have already been identified - Alex Kozan, Nick Davidson, Jordan Diamond, Ifeadi Odenigbo, Jordan Diggs, Bam Bradley, Riquan Southward, etc. I doubt that Meyer would have time to identify any "system players" or "sleepers" at this point. However, if Ohio State hires Meyer, then we could see some blue chip national prospects suddenly become interested. Remember, there are still over two months until NLOID, and plenty of kids still have official visits left to take. Don't be shocked if a couple of kids turn up in Columbus completely out the blue.Diego-Bucks;2043311; said:On Step 1 to an exciting finish with Washington's commit. I wonder who comes back on the board if or when the new coach is introduced. Does it change EVERYTHING? Do national kids re-enter (or hop on the recruiting board for the first time)? Do we just work with the guys we already had on the menu?
Other than the possibility of Dunn (who I hope stays), I don't see any current verbal-commit that won't be at Ohio State. That is 15 guys currently. It will be exciting to see how things shape up.
I don't see that happening. We haven't recruited in that manner at all. By that I mean that Fickell has told these guys to commit to the school not to the coach. I'd see that commitment being almost 100% binding from the tOSU perspective. Especially in this time of turmoil. Is there any chance that some of the current players that have committed will not be accepted?

Pretty much what I said above. Meyer is coming in cold with respect to the 2012 kids, and he hasn't really recruited in Ohio in a decade, so he'll have to trust that the current staff has made the right calls in handing out and accepting offers. If he sees a glaring mistake, then he might drop a kid, but I'm not expecting that to happen. Meyer will have plenty of opportunities to weed out kids once he gets them on campus.coryhulbert;2043389; said:Is there any chance that some of the current players that have committed will not be accepted?
