Which is why my dislike for $EC fans exists. It started in 1996 and I was in Pensacola visiting a friend. Her Father was a diehard Auburn fan. He asked who I rooted for. After telling him Ohio State he looked at me and asked if they were any good......WTF!!!!! They aight, I guess.

This seems to be the norm with $EC fans. Just not very football literate. Just my IMHO.

i agree with this observation.

I live deep in SEC country.
and listening to people talk, you would swear there aren't any other teams/conferences out there.

It's actually worse in Tallahassee.

During the long stretch of Seminole irrelevance, they dismissively snorted about the superiority of southern football to northern football as if the ACC could somehow glean some respectability from their geographic proximity to the SEC.

When asked why they "knew" that Florida State was going to destroy Penn State in the Orange Bowl by 4 touchdowns, they muttered something about the Big Ten. But when asked what they knew about Penn State, they quickly admitted they knew nothing because they were, of course, not Big Ten fans. I didn't bother talking to them about the outcome of the game (which was not in keeping with their expectations).

Embarassing stuff for the UGA athletic department. Two secondary violations to report this month in relation to paying for items for recruits on campus. Sloppy! :shake:

http://dogbytesonline.com/georgia-r...secondary-violation-involving-football-63198/

The fianc? of a non-coaching football staff member ate an off-campus meal at a local restaurant with the recruit in attendance, a violation of NCAA rules. The violation was discovered during a routine review of expense reports submitted to the compliance office.

The cost of the meal ($28.75) will be reimbursed to the athletic department. The institutional staff member involved will receive a letter of admonishment and a process for pre-approval of those attending off-campus meals with recruits will be developed, according to a letter dated Oct. 12 from athletic director Greg McGarity sent to SEC commissioner Mike Slive that was obtained through an open records request.

The staff member?s name and the name of the restaurant were not included in the letter.

Georgia believes no recruiting advantage was gained and is asking for relief from prescribed SEC penalties in such a case, including any telephone calls to the recruit for 60 days following the first date for permissible calls and being limited to no more than one additional off-campus contact with the prospect.

This was the second NCAA secondary violation involving the football program that Georgia reported since Sept. 17.

Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo was prohibited from recruiting off-campus for 30 days after Bobo and a recruiting intern took an unnamed prospect and his mother into the school?s tennis complex while the NCAA tennis championships were being held in May during an unofficial visit. A member of the ticket office staff reported the complimentary admissions to the compliance office.

The price of admission was $8. The family paid restitution of $20.

The 30 days recently expired. Bobo is permitted now to recruit off campus. Georgia reduced by two the number of off-campus contacts with the recruit and prohibited contact with the recruit for 30 days. The SEC did not impose any additional penalties.

Once again Alabama avoids playing any team of stature in the SEC East. Yet, their schedule is "brutal". Such a a load of shit.

Bama's 2013 conference foes has a combined 31-27 record so far this season.
By comparison, LSU's 2013 conf opp have a combined 40-16 record so far.

Plus Bama has TWO 1aa teams on their schedule next year.

It's very kind of the SEC schedule makers to eliminate UK from the SEC title race by the second weekend of October so the fans can get ready for midnight madness without any distractions.
