2012 Ryder Cup (don't merge)

Tiget is barely getting past Molinari. The once great intimidating player no longer intimidates anyone. Stop living in 2005.

Wow, way to blow that out of proportion. I am not calling Tiger great, but he played well enough to will 2 matches if his partner even played mediocre.

BTW...What happened to your fantastic Zoltan avatar?

Almost went today but didn't due to soccer tourney in the morning and cub scouts this evening... Oh, and the apparent outcome almost decided when we went to bed last night.

Part of me is very glad we didn't go for obvious reasons... Part of me wishes I was there to witness this historic event. The second part of me wishes I had a ticket on the Hindenberg _and_ the Titanic. I don't pay attention to that part of me very often for good reason.

I'm in the UAE and just woke up to find we choked this away. Worst part is my business partner here is an avid golfer from Scotland. I probably won't take any shit for this historic collapse:sad2:

Really thought Hunter Mahan should have been a Pick over Stricker. I think I brought this up in the team selection thread.

Wow. Just, wow. Furyk. I mean WTF? That was one of the worst collapses I have ever seen, it was Vandeveldian. And this against a guy known for choking himself. I mean, hats off to the Euros, they played really well, but Davis being so fucking stubborn and going with the Woods/Stricker pairing 3 times and the captain;s pick of Furyk, who is pretty much a disaster, was their undoing. Epic collapse.

Also, while I am piling on Fyursuck, this shows why all sports HOFs are watered down all to hell. I mean a guy like this with one major and choke after choke making a HOF is ridiculous, yet he is more or less a lock to make it. He is a gold equivalent of Lynn Swann or Joe Namath.

The bigger kick in the sack could've been Justin Rose over Lefty.

Drains the long one on 17 to square it and then hits the put on 18 to win it. Right there it just swung a point in two holes.

But Furyk and Stricker's losses hurt as well.

At least in that one Rose won it with great shots. The others were just poor play by the Americans.

This x a million. Rose you can say hey, he made great shots. Yes, it hurt in terms of one we thought we had, but he earned that. Fyursuck and Stricknyne just choked it away, point blank.

17 and 18 were the difference. Our guys were misreading those greens, which is baffling, especially 18. Johnny Miller pointed it out; couldn't understand why we didn't practice more on the 18th green. It wasa problem all weekend and a disaster on Sunday.

Davis Love will go down as one of the worst Ryder Cup captains ever. Everybody knew Stricker didn't have it and that Tiger was awful at alternate shot.

Mahan choked 2 years ago in the Ryder Cup, back when he was actually playing well. Why not pick someone like Rickie Fowler instead? He rises to the occasion in match play formats, kind of like Poulter.

(Oh, and FIFY).

I would have taken both Fowler and Mahan over Furyk and Stricker. Both have the ability to fill it up, like Bubba, when they are on fire.

Yeah, no.....

For comparison's sake, Olazabal picks:

Ian Poulter 4-0
Nicolas Colsaerts 1-3
