I know one thing for sure O'Connor IMO would be a much better pick up than Diamond. I guess that is a goofy statement I know and then followed up with IMO. Mostly Im not sold on Diamond being worth the wait to hold on to a scolly only to hear he is going somewhere else. I think we learned that isnt the best tactic last year and he hasnt exactly blown up for the U. And i cant overstate how much I truly enjoy watching O'Connor play he just plays the way you want your lineman to play. Big frame, good feet, and a mean streak. Yep sounds good to me.

...but Meyer gets those kids that wait until the end. I hear what you are saying though. With Meyer, and his staff coming along, I like our chances in a shootout at the end.

The current staff (albeit sans an OL coach) sees O'Connor as a possible future right tackle.

There's more to projecting a tackle than height. I mean, there's a reason Kalis projects as a guard/R tackle. It's all about reach, footwork, speed, and technique. Some 6'8" guys could never play tackle, where as some 6'4" guys are perfectly built for tackle. Size will also be less of an issue at the college level, so it's certainly reasonable for O'Conner to project to tackle in college.

Free Rivals - Prep rankings: Metoyer still on top

Ohio State commitment Michael Thomas from New Berlin (N.Y.) Milford Academy is one of four new four-stars in the latest rankings.

Obviously he is attending FUMA...not Milford.

Fellow Fork Union standouts Michael Thomas and Isaiah Battle check in at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively, on the list. Shuman liked both of them this season.

"Thomas is a premiere athlete," he said of the 6-foot-4, 203-pound Ohio State wideout commitment. "He's rangy and explosive and he picked things up quickly for us despite coming in late. He has some big catches for us including a few key touchdowns.

Other notables in the top 15 include Worcester (Mass.) Worcester Academy linebacker Steven Daniels, a Boston College commitment who dropped to No. 9 after struggling with weight issues. Fork Union offensive linemen Taylor Gadbois (Miami) and Jamar Lewter (Marshall) make the list at Nos. 10 and 11, respectively, and Ohio State commitment Cardale Jones, also at Fork Union, is at No. 12.

Spence was among the best players on the defensive line in the country and he led his team to a state final appearance in Pennsylvania. During his senior season, he accumulated 108 tackles, 28 tackles for a loss and 13 sacks. He was the Defensive Player of the Year in the state as both a junior and a senior and will be headed to Ohio State. His combination of size, speed, and strength is bolstered by his intelligence on the field.

Hamilton earned the national Defensive Player of the Year Award from RivalsHigh with his play all season. He was simply dominant on a dominant defense. He recorded 72 tackles and 21 sacks while pushing Don Bosco to the No. 2 spot in the final national rankings.

Neal was the focal point of the explosive Chaparral offense and it showed as he went over 1,000 yard rushing and receiving on the season. With just 100 carries, Neal tallied 1,317 yards and 16 touchdowns. He caught 62 passes for 1,113 yards and 14 touchdowns. For good measure, he returned three kickoffs for touchdowns as well.

I tend to wonder if this was an East Coast kid if we would all have him higher than Diggs and company. His stats tell me him is capable of doing a little of everything at a high level. Size is nice but far from the complete story.

The Final Scout 300 of the year is out for class of 2012 football players. Tops on the list among OSU commits is DE Noah Spence, who is 5th.

Ohio State has three more DL in the top 60 in Adolphus Washington (10th), Tommy Schutt (48th) and Se'Von Pittman (58th). Dominant.

Other OSU players: RB Bri'onte Dunn (32nd), LB Joshua Perry (108th), RB Warren Ball (196), DB Najee Murray (253) and DB De'Van Bogard (292)

Judging by this list, OSU takes a backseat to no one in terms of the d-line. Overall our DEs are better (2,3,9) vs. (1,7,10). IMO, Spence is better than Edwards. I didn't see him do much in the UA game, while I saw Spence terrorizing the QBs. He should probably move inside, unless he wants to lose 20lbs.
