FFC...Freddie [censored]ing Couples continues to amaze...a huge crowd favorite and with good reason.

Quick story.....I have Freddie's autograph on a Beningan's Restaurant napkin. It was around 1987-89 and I was living in Grand Blanc, MI. My wife and step daughter went to Beningan's for dinner. Who walks in but a couple of tour pros (Hal Sutton, Freddie and one other guy who I don't remember). I notice the guys and mention to my wife and step daughter who they are and the reason they are in town (to play in the Buick Open). I remember telling them that Freddie (also called Boom-Boom because he hit the ball so far) was one of my favorite golfers and a rising star on the tour.
I then went to the restroom and when I came back my step daughter was in the bar area talking to Freddie and company. She told him what I had said earlier about him being one of my favs. Well she sees me and Freddie motions for me to come over. I spent 5-10 minutes and enjoyed a beer with them. If not for my wife and step daughter I might had been there all night. Freddie and Hal were just genuine and really good guys. Although Sutton had already won a major he was just a regular guy and i remember Couples was really funny. I think Freddie was surprised anybody recognized him because up to that point he really hadn't won anything. A few years later he won his only his only major the 1992 Masters.....

This is so much fun to watch. Rapid fire cutting between holes. So many players in contention. THIS is good for the game of golf. This is this.

But wouldn't it be even better if Tiger was involved?

How can it be?!? The almighty Tiger isn't a part of it, bringing his swearing and club banging act to the masses showing them the proper way to play golf....the proper etiquette?

Allow me one more angry old man disgruntled observation:

Why can't they just show the leaderboard in the proper order? Popularity should not play a role. If there is a tie, the player further along on the course should be listed first.

That's OK...CBS still spent ten minutes during their broadcast with play going on having an armchair chitchat about WITWIWWTT? .
(What In The World Is Wrong With Tiger Today?)

If he gets flattened by a speeding semi next week, d'ya 'spose they'll spend the next couple years devoting airtime to analyzing WWTBDN--IHWFD? ? (What Would Tiger Be Doing Now--If He Wasn't [censored]ing Dead?)
