2012 In-state Players to Watch

Middies' Edwards will play at UC

MIDDLETOWN ? Middletown High School senior Zach Edwards announced Monday he will play football at the University of Cincinnati.

"It just felt like a perfect fit for me," said Edwards, who joins Middies teammate E.J. Junior as a member of the Bearcats' 2012 recruiting class.

"A lot of people preach family, but you could really tell UC is a family-based team," Edwards added. "Plus they have a beautiful campus."

A 6-foot, 175-pound wide receiver, safety and return specialist, Edwards was voted first team All-Greater Miami Conference three years in a row. He was a second team All-Southwest District this past season, registering 17 catches for 251 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 20.6 yards per kickoff return and 13.6 yards per punt returner, including a 77-yard touchdown.

Well I meant in general. I used to talk to his aunt quite a bit his senior year (before he enrolled in prep school) and the thread reminded me that I hadn't thought about him in awhile.

Oh, sorry. I just recall that he never made it to college. Not sure where he lives/works/hangs out.
