2012 Final Four: tOSU -0.5 vs Kansas (ov/un 136.5) Sat 9:05 ET, CBS

Thad Matta has been on record as saying that Craft knows every rule, down to where the ball will be taken out after a foul (sideout or under the hoop). There was a play this year where the ball was scored in the first half with about 38-39 seconds to play, with the clock running after made baskets in the first half, Craft held the ball until under 35 seconds to ensure the Buckeyes got the last possession of the half. His basketball IQ is probably in the 99th percentile.

He knew. Tried to sneak one in. Didn't work out.

My question is: did anyone else know he was going to go quickly? Thomas certainly would have had a play on the ball if he was looking for it...

Probably not, but you kind of hope it's one of those things discussed for late-game scenarios in practice.

Most of the time it's a long drawn out FT where guys get set and ready to bust in, but there was one other intentional miss, I believe in this tournament, where someone pulled off the same catch-from-ref-and-immediately-shoot play before everyone was set. I remember remarking how that was a much better strategy. Could have pulled off one of the best plays in recent March Madness if it had worked out completely and it would have talked about it for a long time in Buckeye Nation.

No way anyone else knew he was going to do it. If they did, Craft wouldn't have ran into the lane so fast after releasing it. If it was a called play, osu would have been expecting it and ready to rush with Kansas still getting ready. Would have been a genius move it had worked

Did Craft know the FT line rule? Has he said anything about it?
