2011 Women's World Cup

Holy hell! WTF!? :pissed:

Bull shit! And a really late call at that. And...Solo makes the save on the free kick!

And holy fucking shit! She did not move off of the fucking line! What. The. Fuck!!! Damn it, they got the score on a bull shit call.

It's getting to the point with FIFA and international soccer that I really have begun to believe there is blatant corruption (see, for example, Qatar's receipt of the men's World Cup), and when I see something like that, I am very, very skeptical. Goalkeepers are always allowed to move around on their line and Solo barely moved at all. I've never seen anything like that at any level.

With FIFA's recent image and accusations of corruption and now the whistleblower going back on what shes said, it's hard NOT to be skeptical in any sequence of events like that. The thing is the referee hadn't had much of an impact on the game until that situation; and to see something like that is unbelievable regardless of the nation it happens against.

It depends who's shooting. Brazil is a heavy favorite for this Cup, right? I'd put money on the call being tight on Solo, but absolutely sloppy and loose on Brazil.

Hoping we can pull off a late winning goal though, because I don't think we'd last through extra time, honestly.

I don't think there was a "heavy" favorite in this Cup. If anyone was favored, it was probably Germany, but the US and Brazil were both right there, too.

If if does go to penalties, that earlier call could effectively neutralize the advantage of having one of the world's best keepers. The US are doing well to earn set pieces even being down one player - let's hope they can connect one one of those soon.
