2011 Women's World Cup

Lost count of how many times the commentators (Mowins/Whitehill) used the words "Speed" and "Athleticism" to describe Equatorial Guinea.

All they need now is to use "Plays in Space" and they'd be Herbie.

Okaaaaay. One of the blokes from EqG picked up a live ball in his own box....no stoppage.....no call......wow. Something HAS to be called there.

A few minutes later and EqG gets the equalizer.

I honestly don't know how none of the officials saw that guy pick up the ball. The only excuse that I can come up with, is that the orange goalie jersey and the red outfield jersey's are close enough in color that it wasn't clear that the guy holding the ball wasn't the goalie...or, a woman.

Equatorial Guinea is still bigger than Qatar, in terms of total area.

So there you go, there's hope for them to host a World Cup (if the check's big enough and they do have oil reserves).

On a side note, it would be in FIFA's DNA to appease the U.S. by giving the federation the women's World Cup shortly.

This match vs. Sweden is the first one I've watched. They are already down 1-0 on a penalty, and it should be 2-0. Their back line is doing a pretty good imitation of the men's back line so far.
