If we were to pen a book detailing the current state of UM's football program..what would it be titled?

Pleasantly surprised by recruiting right now.....

One of the reasons I thought that we absolutely needed to land Harbaugh was to re-establish the Michigan brand immediately in the recruiting world.

That said, I am pleasantly surprised by the immediate recruiting effort of Hoke and Company. On the other hand, if I go back over the past 20 years of UM recruiting history, we likely have UM's two top recruiters over that period on the staff right now - Hoke and Mattison. So, maybe I should not be surprised at all.

And, to head off at the pass the masters of the obvious - yes, we do need more elite talent and that need has been on the table for 4-5 years of recruiting now. In other words, that need did not arrive with Hoke and was never really addressed prior to Hoke. I will wait to judge Hoke and company's ability in that regard next year while waiting to be pleasantly surprised again this year.

Yeah, landing guys ranked in the 50-100s at their position is "reestablishing the m*ch*g*n brand". :slappy:

UM fans are also starting to focus on the philosophical differences between Hoke and RR.

Three years ago they were rejoicing in Martin Luther and the Reformation.

Now they are singing the praises of Leo X and his Exsurge Domine.

I want to go on record right now that the next UM coach will be L Ron Hubbard.

Re: *Urban Myth*

U-M dropped him at his official visit, when it was made clear they'd have to 'bid' for him
Green is an ugly color for you thomas. :roll1:

How a member of the scout payroll is allowed to toss around accusations like this with no accountability is beyond me.

Take it this was on the so-called premium side. Does this guy actually believe the shit that comes out of his mouth? Pryor was pursued by his beloved RR up until the moment he announced. Thomas needs to wipe RRs ball cheese out of his eyes.

In beav's world, every recruit that scUM misses on was either bought or dropped by scUM.

Oh, or the anti-RR cloakers were torpedoing him with unreasonable academic standards (Dorsey).

So, I've read a bit on the 2011 RB discussion thread as well as the Jaamal Berry, Carlos Hyde, Rod Smith and Jordan Hall threads lately, namely how there's a load of competition between this stable of elite backs for PT to start our 2011 campaign, given that our senior elite back will be sidelined for the first 5 games.

I compare this 'problem' we have with M*ch*gan's recruiting/bare cupboard problems - and wow. The contrast couldn't be more stark.

These are indeed golden years for the Buckeyes, and as good as we have it, M*ch*gan has it equally as bad. The situation will be ripe for shenanigans for years to come :)

well to be fair, if you had dirt on your hated rival that has owned your ass for 10 years now.....you would keep it to yourself, too.
If by "keep it to yourself", you mean things like Charlie Batch (Terrelle's advisor and companion on the visit) telling everyone in AA that they had no shot at Pryor, but continuing to sell subscriptions with 50-50 proclamations, then yes.
