2011 Rivals/Scout/etc. National & Regional Rankings

5-star TEs are rare...and star rankings mean jack to me...the fact that he might be the top TE in the nation next year is huge. And I LOVE OSU's chances...

Very much hope y'all are right. I am somewhat pessimistic given our recent record recruiting TE's.

With perhaps my boldest statement for the '09 season, I think we use the TE's this year. I think Ballard will have some grabs but if Stoney is healthy, we utilize him.

Five star TE's are rare...only Martellus Bennett and Kyle Rudolph have attained five star status from '05 to '10. However, there always seems to be one right in the 30-40 range if not in the top 25, so it seems to me he will be there somewhere. Both Rivals and Scout can't quit talking about Koyack.

Oddly enough I agree with that statement...

October 13, 2009 by Luke Stampini

SoFLAfootball brings you over 50 of the top prospects in Palm Beach, Broward and Dade Counties for the class of 2011. Each of the prospects ranked has been seen in action during a game, practice, camp, combine, or 7-on-7 event.
cont...

Of interest to Buckeye fans:

1. Teddy Bridgewater 6'2/175 QB Miami Northwestern: Bridgewater still needs to refine his passing attack, but there is no denying his athleticism, speed, and arm strength.
2. Curt Maggitt 6'3/205 DE Dwyer: Talented pass rushers are always in demand, and Maggitt may be the best at getting after the quarterback in South Florida regardless of class.
6. Nick O'Leary 6'3/220 TE Dwyer: O'Leary is starting to fill out physically while still maintaining his speed and body control that make him one of the best tight ends in the state.
11. Phillip Dorsett 5'10/165 WR St. Thomas Aquinas: Dorsett runs sound routes and has good speed, making him one of the better receivers in the area.
12. Denzel Perryman 5'11/205 LB Coral Gables: Perryman has excellent speed and athleticism for a linebacker. He also has a knack for making major hits.
16. Rashad Greene 6'0/170 WR St. Thomas Aquinas: Greene has the physical attributes to be one of the best, with his great speed and decent size. He still needs to improve his routes and aggressiveness to get there.
38. Arrington Jenkins 6'2/215 DE/LB Killian

HONORABLE MENTION
Jacoby Brissett ATH Dwyer
Jeremy Cash S/LB Plantation

Isn't kind of surprising that Miller and Hayes aren't in the top 50?

Miller yes, Hayes is borderline.

Hardy has been rated awfully high at CB by Scout. Haven't heard very much at all on him though. Anyone know much on the kid? He and Grant seem like a nice top 2 CB's in-state.

I guess you have to define what goes into the rankings...how good the player is now or how good of a prospect they are right now? I agree with your statement but I think Hayes is the one who should be in and Miller is the one who is borderling...because so much of what makes Miller a great recruit is his potential. Hayes is the better player right now but Miller might have the slightly higher ceiling. Either way they are both going to be terrors for opposing tackles when they get on campus...
