Scout $ - Walls Racking Up Offers
By Brandon Huffman, Posted Mar 12, 2010

Walls received 5 new offers this week & is still open to all of them... All offers are as a safety which is fine with him... Says his Mom is an OSU alum so he grew up as a fan of the Buckeyes... He grew up in several different areas & distance won't be a factor in his decision...

Dickerson comes from a long line of talented athletes. One of his grandfathers played football for Southern Illinois and the other played basketball for Pepperdine. His father was a member of Pittsburgh Central Catholic's 1988 State Championship team and his mother was a highly recruited basketball player who decided to pursue higher education and not play in college, although she had the offers to do so.

Dickerson is also a very driven student, carrying a 3.7 core GPA while taking many honors classes as a sophomore in high school.

'11 MS WR Joe Morrow

Someone had mentioned a WR from Mississippi named Joe Morrow that was getting a look from the OSU staff. Can't remember who it was or if it was even this board but in short, yes he's being recruited by OSU. His peewee football coach is a Buckeye fan & sent Morrows tape to OSU. They've been mailing him, emailing him, & are supposed to get back to him soon about the possibility of an offer. Full story coming later on ThaRinger (I'll post a link here too).

The future is what counts to Morrow
By Smith | 4/17/10

"My old coach from peewee league mentioned Ohio State and I was like 'yeah I like them'. So I gave him a tape of my highlights and he sent it up there to them. Ever since then they've been sending me letters and everything. He tells me I'd be a good fit for up there."

Steven Montgomery Q&A
By Smith | 5.3.10

...
Montgomery: I recently got in contact with Wisconsin. They're going to be down here this week and they said they want to offer me. I've been in contact with Michigan and then I got a few letters and stuff from Ohio State, but nothing too serious. I've been in contact with Purdue too. I have offers from UCF, Western Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. I talk to a lot of schools and hear from a lot but I would like to hear more from Ohio State, LSU, and Oregon.

Recruiting is set to blast off for Mertz
By Smith | 5.5.10

...
Mertz: The schools that have offered me so far are Rutgers, Duke, Maryland, and Buffalo. Other schools that are highly recruiting me and close to offering are UCF, Boston College, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Purdue, Northwestern, and UNC. Schools I would like to hear from are Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Penn State. Definitely Michigan though. My dads mom is actually from Michigan. So my dad has always been a die hard Michigan football fan. It would be a great achievement for me if I could get an offer from them.

USC offers LB today
By Eric Guimaraes

LB Cedrick Cooper (6-2 204) of Lithonia, GA picked up an offer from USC. "Coach (Lorenzo) Ward called me today," said Cooper. "He said that after looking at my grades from this past semester, he was going to offer me. I am very greatful for the offer." Cooper already had offers from Clemson, Minnesota, Middle Tennessee, Arkansas, Ole Miss, West Virginia, and Georgia Southern. He is hearing from Tennessee, Ohio State, and Toledo. He has Clemson in his top five. "My top five would be; Tennessee as my number one, Ohio State as my number two, Clemson as my number three, Minnesota as my number four, and West Virginia five," listed Cooper. This summer, he plans to visit Clemson and USC. "I will be at South Carolina for a camp on June 5th," he said. "I'm going to Clemson for an unofficial visit." He also plans to visit Minnesota, Ohio State, Tennessee, and will try to make it to West Virginia.

Wide receiver Damiere Byrd (5-9, 160) of Sicklerville, N.J., was at USC on Saturday for the seven-on-seven tournament and an unofficial visit. Byrd has visited USC before, and he plans to visit Ohio State at the end of this month and also attend a team camp at Maryland. He has no favorites but plans to form a list by the end of the month. He feels USC will be on that list. Byrd has 25 offers. Some of the others are Louisville, Rutgers, Stanford, Duke, Maryland, Michigan State, Penn State, Iowa, Florida, Purdue and Vanderbilt.

Tucker's teammate, wide receiver Keante Minor (East St. Louis, Ill./East St. Louis), an Arkansas commit, also had a solid showing at the event.

"This was a great combine," said the 6-2, 200-pound Minor. "I went out there and competed. I wanted to try and make everyone out there better. There were a few guys who called me out and that's all right. I want to make them better and make myself better. It's all about competition.

"My strengths are my speed and my ability to go up and get the football. I like the Arkansas program and the coaches are telling me that I have a chance to play right away. That's why I chose them.

That's not to say he's completely firm with the Razorbacks.

"I'm still looking at Kansas, Missouri, Illinois and Ohio State," he said.
