This ain't your father's Izzo team. They suck pretty bad.

I know. I've thought that to myself in years past though, and they've made a run anyway. This year's team isn't as good as those other teams I'm thinking back to, but their their competition in that part of the bracket has been lowered to match it seems.

The recent final four teams weren't half as good as the early decade ones, and look what they pulled out of their hat.

Am I the only one who thinks Duke and Pitt got easier brackets?

Pitt, yes. Duke, I don't think so. I think there are a few teams that can jump up and bite Duke. This isn't like last year, where the committee dropped rose petals in front of them on their path to the Final Four.

Pitt's region is absurdly terrible I can't find words to accurately describe it. None of the top six seeds are any good. Pitt always chokes. If Oakland or Morehead State, my two favorite mid majors were in that region, I would pick them to go to the Final Four. The committee did a giant favor to Pitt. I always thought the #1 overall seed was supposed to get the easiest bracket. I don't have any major issues with tOSU's bracket, but Pitt's is just pathetic. More importantly, Pitt will still find a way to not make the Final Four.
:osu:

Pitt has what I think is likely to be the most difficult second round matchup of any of the #1 seeds - the committee did them no prize by pitting them against Butler (team that made the NC game last year who's playing their best ball of the year) or Old Dominion (team that beat ND last year in the tourney before losing to a very good Baylor team).

Agreed.

Duke could very well be looking at Tennessee, Texas and Uconn after the first round then the very tough East bracket Champion (OSU, UK, UNC) on their side before the NCCG.

Pittsburgh, no question has the easiest bracket this year (the delicious irony being they will more than likely fuck it up). If OSU had that bracket I'd bet a considerable sum of money (at least for me) that they make the FF.

There are a couple things I don't know what to think of.

Belmont. I don't know anything about them, but seem to be one of the few people picking Wisconsin over them.

Oakland. I feel like Texas is getting underrated. I haven't seen Oakland play, but the few times I've seen Texas play, I don't see how they don't win a couple games.

Michigan State. They suck, but have been playing some good ball lately, other than that Penn State game. It's also March, and Izzo and the Spartans love March.

Utah State. Thought they would be much higher than a 12. And they're playing Kansas State, another team I'm not sure what to think about. They have plenty of talent and a very good player, but I'm not sold on them due to their underachieving this year.

I currently have OSU/UConn/Pitt/Kansas in the final four. Notable upsets are Utah State over Kansas State, Michigan State over Florida, St. Johns getting to the Elite 8, Richmond over Vandy and Texas over Duke. Everything else is either a minor upset or not an upset at all. I'm sure I'll change a few before the tourney starts.. but I'm not liking my bracket at all right now.

...Kentucky (has) been over-hyped because of name this year ...
I don't understand this one at all. Look at kenpom.com and you'll see that Kentucky should probably have been a 2-seed. Tough draw for the Bucks in the Sweet 16.

I think we have the easiest first two rounds, and the most difficult Sweet 16 and Elite 8. But then we catch a break (seriously) with Duke in the national semi. Not that Duke isn't good, but I think we match up with them pretty well. Kentucky, though, scares the [censored] out of me.

Utah State's seed is an absolute joke. They could make some noise.

Oakland is a great mid major team with a legit big man, but they got a tough draw with Texas because I think they can overcome it because they are physically tough. Belmont took out a couple of good teams from major conferences and can absolutely take out Wisconsin. Ordinarily I would take Wisconsin, but pasty faced fucktard has had his team shit the bed 2x in a row, so it's a tougher call than usual. I think Utah State is also a good team (especially in the tournament :pissed:) but they got a tough draw as well, because KSU was very highly ranked at one time and they seem to have finally figured it out. And they don't have to play Colorado again  Michigan State I just can't buy, this remnids me of a few years ago when they were like a 10 and got trounced in round 1...I just don't think they have the horses this year personally.

I edited my post in regards to MSU, I had the brackets wrong in my head. Beating both Notre Dame and Florida would result in MSU being in the title game. :p

So them beating UCLA and an overrated Florida (imo) isn't too big of a stretch.. I guess.
