2011-2012 SEC Basketball Thread

No shame in being outclassed by the Horizon League
Given that the 2011 National Runnerup was from the Horizon League, I'd say that's correct. Cleveland State has been pretty good the last few years. (And Vanderbilt has been overrated since Kevin Stallings got there.)

They can certainly play ball, I just enjoyed the ambiguous nature of his excuse.

How is Cincinnati going to be this year?

I think the Dawgs will probably sneak by BGSU and lose to XU. But Cincinnati is the question mark.

Can say I pay too much attention to what local papers are writing about the Bearcats.

Ambiguity in excuse-making is preferable to ambiguity in certain other areas ...

Cincinnati Bearcat Preview on CNNSI

Had a top 25 recruiting class last year, preseason top 25 ranked team... but they lost 5 seniors last year. Preview says they are more talented than last year but obviously a lot less experience. My guess is they are a top 6, maybe top 4 Big East team. The Dwags will have to play a pretty good game to beat the Bearcats.

Damn I was hoping Bowling Green and Ohio State could complete the sweep of SEC teams by teams from Ohio. Oh well we'll still mop the floor with Florida. :)
The Bucks have two SEC teams on the schedule this year... they travel to South Carolina on 12/17. I'll just take the Bucks sweeping their SEC schedule.

Over the long holiday weekend, Georgia got their asses kicked by Cal (good) and Xavier (very good) and beat Notre Dame.

They'll play at Colorado this evening and then home against Cincinnati and Georgia Tech. Here's hoping they can win 2 of 3 and fix their poor play.
