2010 Winter Olympics tidbits

Don't even bother with NBC primetime tonight. Looks like they're gonna have 3-1/2 hours of figure skating on tonight, and the rest stuff that I've already read about on SI.com.

CNBC has the better stuff tonight - US women's curling is wrapping up right now, and then a hockey tripleheader

  • Canada vs. Norway
  • Finland vs. China (women)
  • Russia vs. Latvia.
After that, they'll have US men's curling. They had a match this afternoon the lost their first match to Germany, they had a second one today vs. Norway that's being shown in the wee hours of the morning after hockey. CNBC's coverage goes to 5AM. Obviously this is all tape delayed after Canada hockey, but at least it's undivided coverage of something.

Women's downhill (Lindsey Vonn) will be shown tonight too. Don't read teh internets if you don't want to find out what happened.

It's a good night to watch NBC - American stars and no figure skating.

US men's curling is on CNBC right now, to be followed by Sweden vs. Germany hockey in primetime. I won't be watching the hockey though. NBC's primetime lineup tonight is about as good as we can hope for, so I gotta watch that while I can.

Didn't realize the Buckeyes had a skater on Canada's women's hockey team. Tessa Bonhomme. She just scored, and I think it's her second goal of the Olympics so far.

Speaking of Team Canada, they're destroying Team Sweden 5-0 in the first period. Not even close. The lack of competitiveness in women's hockey is depressing.
