2010 TSUN offseason arguments & shenanigans

If WolverineMike drops in, maybe he can answer a question for me. While watching the BTN replay of last year's OSU/tSUN game in the Big House, I noticed something I don't recall seeing before from your fans. They were shown repeatedly making this gesture in unison. Maybe it's intended to represent "hail to the victors" or something. I dunno. Curious about what it's supposed to mean.

No biggie. It just seemed naggingly familiar, like I'd seen it somewhere before.

Definitely reminded me of something or someone...Oh, ye-aa-a-ah...These guys:

You folks should cut it out. It's really creepy.

I figured that was it.....LOL. we're like a clown college sometimes here in the last couple seasons

so this guy receives notification that a long lost relative has left him a vast fortune. he calls his three sons, and asks them to tell him something they have always wanted. the oldest said he always wanted a Harley. the guy buys him 30- one for each day of the month. the middle son said he always wanted a Porsche. so the guy bought him seven- one for each day of the week. now the youngest was just a little tyke, and he said that all he ever wanted was a Mickey Mouse outfit. so the guy bought him the University of M-CH-G-N.

the OSU UM game again from last year. Couple of things....Man was Tate awful that game. Our defense played pretty darn good. And I noticed that VS got hurt with nobody even around him - his knee must have just popped.

of the OSU game last night on Big Ten Network. I'm honestly pretty positive on our defensive front and O line. It looks a lot more like we beat ourselves with the dumb freshman mistakes.

ive seen a lot of these sort of comments lately

what exactly is "positive" about giving up 251 rushing yards (nice defensive front) and being outgained overall by a team that threw the ball 25 times less than you?

And when UM finally scored, OSU squashed that momentum immediately with plays UM defends every day in practice.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeKKSRR-O2I"]YouTube- 2009: Ohio State v. Michigan (Drive-Thru)[/ame]
- broken plays on bobbled snaps by Tate & Denard... check. 13 yd rush by Pryor, first down at OSU 30.

- inside zone... check. 16 yd rush by Saine, first down at 50.

- read option give ... check. 13 yd rush by Boom, first down at 36.

- read option keep ... check. 11 yd rush by Pryor, first down at 25.

- outside zone ... check. 23 yd rush by Boom, first down at 2. Boren reminding RR why spread defenders are usually a liability against the run.

- underneath screen pass on 3rd down ... check. 4 yd TD catch and run by Boom.
The other drive, answering UM's FG, was even worse
- read option give ... 15 yd rush... 9 tacklers hit Saine and he still almost broke free.

- read option pass ... 9 yd scramble by Pryor, overpursuit by Roh.

(after a short yardage dive play...)

- read option keep ... 20 yd run by Pryor.

- rollout counter ... 29 yd run by Saine.
After all that belly aching over Hermann & English's struggles against the spread, hiring a spread coach has not only stripped UM of its physicality & success against power teams like PSU, Iowa, MSU, Wisky... but somehow they are even worse at defending the spread after 2 years of daily practice.

UM's offense will make some nice strides forward this year, but there is a big threat of that being cancelled out by this defense.

I can see why they're optimistic though. It's not like they lost anything from that DLine that was good, so it's basically the same unit.......right?

Oh, for sure. Addition by subtraction all the way. Graham, as a holdover from the Carr era, was a liability. I'd say the same thing about Stevie Brown, but he was pretty fast. I mean, not Morgan :slappy: Trent fast, but still pretty fast... ish.. kinda.

the screen pass play call by Tress was brilliant and pretty much showed me they could score at will if they wanted. The TD pass from Tate gave me hope, the screen pass to Beanie brought me back to reality.

That wasn't Beanie Wells...he was already in the NFL. That was Boom Herron...

Watching that game last year was fun but I could tell that Tressel was holding back. It was like he was toying with them. This year I think we beat them severely no matter how conservative Tressel gets. I think Tressel does not try to embarrass Michigan because he doesn't want to give them any fuel to the fire...like 1969.

I have this feeling.....

That RR and Co. are building a DYNASTY....

give it 2 yrs people and I don't think we will have to worry about losing to OSU or many people ....THE DAYS ARE COMING GUYS BE PATIENT

We are oh ever so close to being back

If a few huge recruiting pieces might end up falling our way ....watch out

Funny, I remember a bunch of these types of posts last summer.

This is awesome:

I simulated the 2010 season on NCAA 2011 and..........

Here are the results...

Wins
UCONN, ND, UMASS, BOWLIN GREEEN, IU, MSU, IOWA, ILLINOIS, PURDUE

Loss
PSU, WISCONSIN, OSU

9-3
Capital One Bowl verse Ryan Mallet and Arkansas

Arkansas 27
Michigan 34

BTW I did this 2 times and the reslutls were the same.

GO BLUE!

Going to the video game simulation...e!spn would be proud.

Remember when a 9-3 season and a loss to tOSU would have been considered an abject failure for them? Now it's cause for celebration...
